Fire stick
Fire stick came in the time frame promise we opened it and installed it went to set up everything and i couldn’t remember my Amazon pass word and the other 2 steps i couldnt get to work. So i went thru the very long process of resetting my password. Finally got it set up. We picked what we wanted and so far we are not disappointed. 2 days after the set up the remote stopped working. I googled the problem and it was as simple as diconnecting and reconnecting. all of these movie channels they all show the same stuff .

An Entertainment Powerhouse: The Amazon 4K Fire Stick Delivers Impressive Performance
The Amazon 4K Fire Stick is a powerful streaming device that brings a world of entertainment to your fingertips. I recently purchased this device and have been thoroughly impressed with its performance. Here’s why I think it deserves recognition:1. Stunning 4K Ultra HD: The Fire Stick delivers breathtaking 4K Ultra HD picture quality, offering vivid colors, sharp details, and exceptional clarity. Whether you’re streaming movies, TV shows, or playing games, the visual experience is top-notch and truly immersive.2. Seamless Streaming: With a quad-core processor and ample memory, the Fire Stick ensures smooth and uninterrupted streaming. Navigating through different apps and content is effortless, and there’s minimal buffering time. The device’s responsiveness and speedy performance make for a delightful user experience.3. Vast Content Selection: Amazon Fire Stick provides access to a vast library of streaming apps, including popular platforms like Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, and more. The intuitive interface makes it easy to discover and explore a wide range of content, ensuring that there’s always something for everyone’s preferences.4. Alexa Voice Remote: The included Alexa Voice Remote is a game-changer. With just a press of a button and a voice command, you can effortlessly search for movies, control playback, adjust volume, and even ask for weather updates or other information. The voice control feature adds convenience and enhances the overall user experience.5. Integration with Amazon Ecosystem: If you’re already an Amazon Prime member, the Fire Stick seamlessly integrates with your account, providing easy access to Prime Video’s extensive content library. Additionally, you can also stream music, view photos, and even control smart home devices using the Fire Stick, further expanding its utility.6. Enhanced Gaming Experience: The Fire Stick supports a variety of gaming apps, turning your TV into a gaming console. While it may not compete with dedicated gaming systems, it offers a fun and casual gaming experience, especially for families and friends. While the Amazon 4K Fire Stick has numerous positives, there are a few minor drawbacks worth mentioning. Some users may find the remote’s small size a bit challenging to handle, and occasional app crashes or software updates can be mildly inconvenient. However, these issues are infrequent and do not significantly impact the overall performance and enjoyment of the device. In conclusion, the Amazon 4K Fire Stick is an excellent streaming device that delivers impressive performance, stunning 4K visuals, and a vast array of content. With its seamless streaming capabilities, voice control functionality, and integration with the Amazon ecosystem, it offers a feature-rich and immersive entertainment experience. If you’re looking to upgrade your streaming setup, the Fire Stick is undoubtedly a worthy investment.Disclosure: I received no compensation or incentives for writing this review. I recently upgraded to this remarkable Firestick, and I must say, it has exceeded all my expectations. Having previously owned the first model, which unfortunately became sluggish over time, I couldn’t be more thrilled with the noticeable improvements in this latest version. It’s like a breath of fresh air!The first thing that struck me was the remarkable speed of this Firestick. It operates like a well-oiled machine, effortlessly delivering my favorite content in a blink of an eye. Streaming has never been this seamless and enjoyable! The enhanced performance truly sets this device apart from its predecessor. Not only is the speed impressive, but the overall quality of this Firestick is exceptional. It exudes a sense of durability and sophistication, instantly making it a centerpiece of my entertainment setup. The sleek design and premium build are a testament to its superior craftsmanship, making it a true joy to own.One of my favorite features of this Firestick is the inclusion of built-in buttons for all my streaming services. Gone are the days of juggling multiple remotes or fumbling through countless menus. With this Firestick, I can effortlessly switch between my preferred streaming platforms with a simple press of a button. Couldn’t Be Happier 📺 😃
I just moved and had a friend give me a not smart tv 😆 I only watch Netflix and Amazon TV ,just needed a way to connect to the internet. The Firestick has offered that and much more! I knew very little about it going in. I had no other remote so I’m thrilled it works to turn on/off. I can use the voice control to say my favorite show and it will play from where I stopped last time I watched. Remote controls volume as well as has quick find buttons for sites like Netflix. I’m not a techie so I was thrilled at how easy it was to set up👍Saved me a cable bill and has all the features I need and more! Highly recommend.

If you still don’t have this Firestick, then you must still be using a corded telephone!
Not much to say about the Firestick except it is one of the greater inventions that has changed the face of TV. I am now on my 4th Firestick and they just keep getting better and better.I cut the cord from cable a decade ago and the Firestick has made that transition over the years so easy. Most of my TV’s already have all the apps for viewing streaming TV but I still love using the Firestick. It is just so much more intuitive and very fast.Either way, you can’t go wrong with Amazon’s FIrestick for all your TV/ movie streaming.

Best upgrade you can make for an older television!
We have an old TV that was just laying around in our garage, never really used since it wasn’t “smart” but after putting this bad boy in, this TV feels a lot younger! Integrates everything you’d want like YouTube or Spotify. Easy to navigate, perhaps not the most responsive (given the FireStick is making most of the processing power) but nothing that’s unbearable or to complain about. Overall greatest purchase you can make your TV a little smarter.

Great Product!
We’ve got Fire TV sticks on all our tv’s in our house. Dependable, always works! We’ve downloaded a number of app to our Fire sticks, Hulu, YouTube TV, Disney, Paramount, & Netflix, all work seamlessly with FireTV. A little maintence required to check for updates, but it’s seamless! It’s always on, no complaints.Great picture quality on all our HD/4K TV’s. On the rare occasion I need help, Amazon customer service is great, always resolved the problem. Great, great product, highly recommend!

Great product except remote back cover
I like the FireTV Streaming stick. The interface is the best. Makes watching your streaming a snap. I would not go back to the horrible smart TV setup. Fire is the only way to go.FireTV is smart. It’s laid out in a way that makes it easy to watch things. I have 4 FireTV sticks. 2 normal HD old ones and 2 4k new ones. Here’s what you need to know though. There are 2 problems. 1. Memory runs out. 2. The remote has a loose back cover.1. Hold down the “home” button until the menu comes on screen, go to “settings”, “my fire TV” and restart the device. Once a week. It takes 30 seconds so trust me, just do it. It will work way better if you do this.2. The sloppy back on the remote. Moves around and feels like it’s going to slide right off. Terrible. Get a gel cover for your fire TV remote. I bought a yellow one so I could find the remote easier. Solves the loose back cover problem. They are less than 10 bucks on Amazon. I think they even have glow in the dark ones.I do recommend this product. It’s my preferred way to stream. I also recommend hooking it up to the 5ghz on your router and not the older 2.4ghz. The 5ghz is much faster so it is smoother on playback.

Solid performance for much cheaper than Apple TV
This thing really does everything, controlling my TV better than the universal remote I was using before, streaming at high quality over wifi, and being incredibly cheap. I bought this thing for $25 on sale, and I couldn’t be happier. I know that I’m selling all my personal data to Amazon, and that the ads I see are tailored due to this device listening to my conversations but being on a budget, I really dont mind. It’s really snappy, the menus are super easy to navigate, and pairing it with my TV took 2 minutes. I wanted an Apple TV 4K, but there’s no way I could justify it with the value that this offers. The Apple TV is definitely nicer, but the value for this is incredible. I don’t run 4K, and just wanted the nicer processor and I would say its definitely worth buying the higher end FireStick for that purpose as I really don’t see any slow-down at all during use.The apps are well-designed and regularly updated, and interfaces directly with most of my other internet devices.Overall, great value, especially when compared to the other 4K options on the market.

Great product.
The Fire TV Stick 4K is an incredible product that I would highly recommend to anyone in need of a versatile streaming device. With its brilliant 4K streaming quality, this device delivers an immersive viewing experience that is second to none. One of the standout features of the Fire TV Stick 4K is its compatibility with smart home devices, which allows users to easily control their TV and other smart devices using just their voice. This feature makes it incredibly convenient to manage your home entertainment setup without having to fumble with multiple remotes or devices. The device comes with a variety of pre-installed apps that provide access to thousands of movies, TV shows, and live channels. The intuitive user interface makes it easy to navigate through your favorite content, and the device supports 4K, HDR, and Dolby Atmos for an even more immersive viewing experience.Another impressive feature of the Fire TV Stick 4K is its support for free and live TV channels, which can be accessed without the need for a cable or satellite subscription. This provides users with even more options for entertainment, and the ability to discover new content without having to pay for additional subscriptions.Overall, the Fire TV Stick 4K is an excellent product that delivers outstanding performance and convenience. With its 4K streaming quality, smart home controls, and access to free and live TV channels, this device is a great value for anyone in need of a powerful and versatile streaming device.

Its ok
I finally disconnected from cable because it was getting so expensive to just see commercials. I brought this Amazon fire stick to really load apps that I could not by the TV itself. The voice mechanism worked well too. I was able to get the app that I wanted so I am happy. But not easy to learn all of the features and depending on the TV, not all worked – ‘my favorites’ mode still does not work. I would buy when on sale $30.

Sooo easy!!
I had a 5 year old Firestick and it just started to suck. I bought this one and delayed installing it, thinking it would take forever. Well, I wish I had done it much sooner because I literally plugged it in and it download it all the apps I had on my other one and it took about five minutes to get up and running. Not only that, it was super easy to hook up to my receiver, so that I can have a single remote for volume and power, whereas I could not hook up my old stick to my receiver and had to use two remotes.I’m super impressed with the speed of this fire stick and very happy with my purchase. Painless!!

Best smart home device to buy
I have had three fire tv sticks over the years. Easy to set up and works great every time. Great entertainment on Amazon Prime. The Alexa app makes it easy to control the tv and other things such as stereo speakers etc. You can’t beat the price compared to other similar products. I use it to watch ESPN+ and Disney+. You can’t go wrong with the Fire sticks!

A great buy
Purchased an older one a couple years ago, that would not power on. Purchased this replacement which had the Alexa voice on it which is sometimes used and kinda useful. Works just as good for something that is used a lot. In a given day probably runs on average 8-10 hours every day. Lots of apps and free streaming plus access to your paid streaming apps. Will buy again whenever it doesn’t work anymore.

My old fire stick kept losing internet connection and buffering. Purchased this and not only upgrade with quality of picture sound and connection but the remote is so much better with the quick shortcut buttons. We love it so much I bought another for my husband to take when traveling

Awesome product
This is the perfect midline fire stick. The only downside to ALL of the fire stick remotes is trying to see it in the dark. It needs with glow in dark buttons or a backlight.

Super Easy Upgrade. No More Out-of-Sync Audio!
I had an older (2015) Fire Stick and it was starting to act strangely. Sometimes the sound would be super slow which required restarting the movie, and FreeVee became mostly useless because it ran so slow and the sound was always out of sync.I installed the new 4K FireTV Stick in a minute (I reused the old power cord since they are identical), and chose to use the previous info which saved and transferred all my settings, saved movies, etc.I also reinstalled the few apps I use and since I created accounts for all of them, again, all saved info ensured all settings, preferences, and history were there.I can now use FreeVee without issues of any kind which is awesome.Still getting used to the new remote which, BTW, allows me to control the TV’s on/off and volume controls so I don’t have to use two remotes any longer. VERY convenient. 😊👍🏻It also works great as far as bringing up the previous screen or app when I press the wrong button (something I do way too often), even when I am watching a YouTube video and I accidentally press the Home button, for example. My TV is at least ten years old but I’m planning to upgrade later this year, so having the 4K FireTV will make transitioning to the TV a lot easier.I hope my review was helpful.Thank you for reading.

Arrived broken, after 3 hours talking to Amazon it’s still not being replaced!!!
DO NOT BUY FIRE TV DEVICES!!! CHOOSE ANOTHER STREAMING PLAYER BRAND!!!Worst customer service experience in my life from Amazon!!!! Amazon sent me a completely broken Fire TV 4k stick! From day one the audio cuts out entirely after a few mins of playing a video, and does not return until stick is physically unplugged from power. Then it cuts out again. Problem occurs in all video apps, and I tried full software restore, plugging into multiple different TVs, as well as different audio connections (direct to TV through HDMI, Through receiver, through bluetooth on multiple devices.) And my other Fire TV 4k of the same model works fine in this same TV, so… THE STICK IS BROKEN! So I contact Amazon through their chat interface and Parmish is a total disaster at helping me. I tell him that I have done a full software restore on it, at which point he responds that I need to do a full software restore. Ya know, the thing I just told him that I did already. Then I tell him I have already tried plugging the fire TV directly into the TV with no sound receiver, and he says “well than what I need you to do is plug the fire TV directly into the TV with no sound receiver.” This happened over and over. It was like a bad joke. But I wasn’t laughing. Finally after about an hour of this nonsense he decides that my Fire TV stick needs to be replaced. Then he says I “Have no card on file”, what ever that means. So after about 10 more unanswered and ignored questions to him about just what he’s talking about I finally figure out he means my Amazon account has no credit card on file. But it does have a card on file. I log in and verify this. The card is up to date and working, and amazon had just charged it that day even. So I tell him this, and he responds that I need a credit card on file in order to send out a replacement, even though it won’t be charged. I tell him again that the card is on file and working, and he says it need to be updated. Even though it does not. So I hit “edit” on my card info on file, and resubmit the same working card. Parmish sees this on his end and says thank you. Then he says I need to update my OTHER CARD on file. I look and there is an old credit card from 6 years ago on the account from a bank I no longer use, and its not even selected as the active/favored card, so It doesn’t even matter that it there, but I delete it anyways just to be sure. Then Parmish says I need to reenter and update that old card (that I no longer bank with) in order to get a replacement sent out. At this point I’m done with Parmish. The whole conversation was absolutely ridiculous! I say “thank you for the help but I need a supervisor. Please transfer me to a supervisor.”So Parmish transfers me to Vikas. I ask Vikas if he is a supervisor and he says “no.” (Are you surprised by this? I wasn’t.) So I explain that I was suppose to be transferred to a supervisor and ask that Vikas transfer me directly to a supervisor. And I’m transferred to Annal.I ask Annal if they are a supervisor, and they answer… get ready for it… are you ready… they answer …”No” !!!!!!!!! They &^^&%&$^^%^ answer “No.”So I close the chat window I just wasted over an hour on and I call Amazon. This is where the real nightmare begins. I start off with a regular customer service rep and I ask her to transfer me to a supervisor right away because this will be my 4th attempt to get a supervisor. She is very polite and gets me a supervisor on the line write away. I explain the entire issue with the Fire Tv 4k Stick and everything I have done to troubleshoot it already YET AGIAN, and the supervisor apologizes for all the insane trouble I’ve been having. She sounds like she really wants to help me, asked some more questions, and then tells me that she can’t replace this particular model because its out of stock. I had just checked the stock, so I knew it wasn’t out. I checked it again, and then told her it appears to have plenty of stock. She verified what model it was again, then said “oh yes, I guess we do have it, let my put you on hold while I try to send you one.” She comes back a while later and says “the system won’t let me send you one. I have to transfer you to a Fire TV Specialist, buy I’ll get you a manager there as well.So then I have to go through the whole thing again with this new Fire TV Specialist person. She keeps putting me on hold to check things over and over again. And she has me do crazy things – For example, she insists I go to my TV, unplug the other working Fire TV I now have in there, and plug this broken one back in, then load it up and read the serial number off of it to her from the info screen. Why? Doesn’t she already have that info? She should. And WHY AM I PLUGGING A $25 DEFECTIVE BROKEN DEVICE BACK INTO MY $2,000 FLATSCREEN??!!! I don’t want to do that. I shouldn’t be asked to do that. What the hell? Then she keeps checking to see if I’m still in warranty. REALL???!!! I JUST got this stick in the mail. I JUST GOT IT. How long is the warranty period that she has to keep checking on.. 5 hours after purchase. Also, this is a brand new model that just came out. HOW COULD ANY OF THEM POSSIBLY BE OUT OF WARRANTY??!!Finally after 3 HOURS of talking to people about this and a final, particularly long hold while the Fire TV Specialist person tries to figure out if I can be sent a replacement – I give up. I tell her I’ll just return it instead – just so I can just get off the phone. But I’m NOT returning it – That too would probably turn into another huge nightmare. It’s not worth my $25 for all this aggravation. So… I’M DONE. This is ridiculous! After speaking with a total of SIX people for over THREE HOURS.. My brand new Fire TV 4K stick in now in my trash can and I’m never buying a Fire TV product again. All Amazon need to do was have me send in my broken one and then send out a replacement. That’s It. They could have sorted out all their serial numbers and insane data requirements after they got my stick back. AS a customer, I simply got something in the mail that arrived broken and I wanted it replaced soon after I got it. How simple of a transition is that? But instead I got this torrent of poor customer service and bizarre data mining. SO.. Officially.. I’m no longer a Fire TV user.I’m currently switching my entire smart TV ecosystem for the entire house over to Google’s Android TV now, I’ve had it with Fire TV, and I suggest you do the same. Android TV systems don’t suffer from the same app limitations that Amazon does (IE with Fire TV you get access got about 12% of the Android apps available to the rest of the Android TV world, Even though Fire TV runs on Android, and you can install what ever apps you want on your Android TV device without having to TRICK IT into installing it), it still works and runs apps (like playing a game or looking at photos) even if your internet connection goes down (Fire TV becomes a useless brick without constant internet), and the whole thing just seems to run better. I don’t have time to deal with Amazon’s nightmare anymore. All I needed was for Amazon to replace the broken Fire TV stick they JUST sent me, and they can’t even do that. So, ummmm… BYEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Must Buy!
Had an earlier model, which was delayed when pressing the button to change the channel. I had no choice but to get a later model since the remote no longer worked. The batteries were not the issue, I was told by an Amazon rep I needed to purchase a new version. This model is slightly smaller and sleek. The buttons even have options to go straight to Prime Video, Netflix, Direct TV, and Peacock. No need to press the return button a few times just to change the app, all you need to do is press which app button you want to watch–simple and easy.

A little buggy from time to time.
I have experienced various issues with this Amazon Firestick. I am using it with my 2019 QLED Samsung smart television. Initially I had issues with the firestick pairing with my 2 echo 4 speaker’s through Alexa for home theatre. Amazon support was hit and miss with troubleshooting options. The Amazon support team are fantastic but just like anything else when your trouble shooting an issue, after asking questions, start with the easiest troubleshooting option first. Amazon wanted me to unplug my router, echo speakers and television to fix communication issues on my LAN (local area network). While Google is an excellent source for troubleshooting options, Ticketing and good documentation saves time. Here’s a list of issues I have had to resolve myself and some trouble shooting options you might not find on the internet. Completely yellow screened with no functionality available, loss of connection with echo 4 speakers losing surround sound suddenly, not turning my television on with proper voice command, trouble loading videos from various apps at times, some pixelation in streaming even with a Gb download speed. I didn’t have pixelation issues when I connected television to router with Ethernet cable so I know it’s not traffic. Probably a frame or two being dropped (UDP packet). First off I am computer savvy and have certifications in Networking and I.T. Support. I actually know how the data is traveling across my network from the physical layer to the application layer. Ok, the absolute first trouble shooting option you should try when having issues with your firestick of any kind is to simply restart your fire stick through the settings menu on your firestick device. Simple and works most of the time. If yellow screened, hold down circle inside ring (select button) on firestick controller and the play/pause button together for 10 seconds. This will reboot your firestick. If sound is not coming through blue tooth speakers while using firestick the first thing you should do is the simplest trouble shooting option available which is to navigate to a different HDMI port then back again and this will fix the sound issue by re-establishing the connection with Alexa home theatre to firestick. As far as television not responding to command to turn on through Alexa, there’s no solid fix that’s quicker than just using the remote but the command will work from time to time. Don’t clear your cache if these steps work. Cache’s are memory and remembers a short list of actions that are used frequently allowing for quicker data transfers. Some devices have 3 different levels of cache. There is a lot of information being transmitted between these devices all the time. If any data in the IP data gram is corrupted the packet will be discarded. The packet in this case is whatever command your trying to perform. You could fill a book with the binary code being transmitted through commands and streaming in a day, it’s insane. Computers only speak with states of on and off or ones and zeros. Unlike wired connections which uses electricity, Bluetooth uses radio waves to transmit data to router before continuing as normal across your network. So interference can be problematic with these devices. Bandwidth is allocated for this reason. Doesn’t mean it’s always perfect. Would I recommend this firestick to a friend? I would if they know a lot about computers and networking because I feel the buggy issues and lack of proper tech support could turn them away from using it regularly. I would buy this item again myself because I understand the technology and the troubleshooting options that I use are easy enough. I know that if Amazon would suggest these options for trouble shooting first then document both success and failures through trouble shooting for future calls. People wouldn’t have to be on the phone with an Amazon employee for 45 minutes unplugging everything while a stranger wants to connect to your computer making everyone feel uncomfortable, wasting company and customer time. Think about it, 45 minutes a call per customer for same issue everyday would get expensive fast for the company. I mean, that’s probably $15 a call for Amazon. That’s if Amazon isn’t farming out there customer support for flat rates in which case only the customer suffers when it could be fixed by putting these simple troubleshooting techniques in the script. Documentation saves money and headaches. Don’t unplug everything, that’s like your car not starting so you buy a new engine when you only needed a new battery.

Bought a Amazon used/verygood k4 firestick
Can’t Blame Amazon, trying to save money, but maybe should have got new, for the small cost difference would have saved headaches. It works with one big glitch, the screen is so large you can’t see the selections to scroll to or what I selected. I just clicked away not knowing what I selected, ended up with pin other oddities. Got it working but with some stuff I didn’t want. Finally hacking around found the problem of over size display, luckily there’s a sizing option to shrink or enlarge.. It maybe why this was returned as could not see settings or other options and could only guess what you clicked on. Once I got it to normal is working well on a Hisence TV that would not allow additional apps other than what it had . It works very well and paired with the tv remote but a bit tricky to get back to local TV, though may be able to hack that too. Part of this is it’s powerful and has lots of functions options. Last of all if getting a new TV this or something like it will already be in the TV if it’s 4K

Pairing your remote
I bought the Firestick to watch Netflix. I also watch cable. I am absolutely not tech savvy, and had trouble pairing my firestick remote. Here was my issue. On the TV my cable uses one hdmi port, and the firestick is plugged into the other hdmi port. I finally figured out-using the TV remote, click the source button to select the correct hdmi input that the firestick is plugged into. As soon as I switched the input, the remote paired successfully. So since we watch both cable and Netflix, we will have to use our TV remote source button to choose the correct input. All this is probably pretty obvious, but it took me all day to figure it out. I think this should be mentioned in the setup for non tech people like me.

A perfect device for my needs! Great quality!
I had a 1st Gen Fire TV stick years ago. This new Fire TV stick 4K with Alexa Voice Remote is a marvel by comparison!(Skip to the next paragraph if you want to get right to the product itself…lol)I was having issues with my bedroom TV. It’s a Vizio “Smart” 4K tv and recently it has been freezing up when using certain apps. The Netflix app was the biggest offender. It would freeze up, no remote function worked and I’d have to get up, physically unplug the tv and plug it back in just to reboot it. Apparently, this is a common issue with app incompatability with the Vizio and certain apps. Even with all of the apps and the TV’s software and firmware up-to-date, the problem persisted. I decided the best work-around was to take the TV’s software out of the picture and let the Fire TV Stick be the “Smart” part of my “Smart TV” setup. And it’s awesome! The first thing I noticed was how easy the setup was. It paired effortlessly with my tv, Echo Dot Speaker w/Alexa and even my Blink cameras. Sure, you have to go through all of the usual stuff like download the streaming apps that you use that aren’t pre-loaded and sign in to them all, but that’s an expected pain in the butt and I only had 2 that weren’t already there. The voice commands are also very intuitive. Whether I’m using the remote, my Echo Dot or the app on my phone, I get what I’m looking for. What I wasn’t expecting was the much better picture quality! I have a Vizio 4K Ultra TV and I’ve noticed some of what I watch the quality is definitely not 4K but that’s more to do with the quality of the content not being 4k (like my live TV streams using YouTube TV for instance….I don’t pay for the 4K option). As soon as I got the Fire TV stick up and running, I noticed a much sharper picture (even the YouTube TV). I’m not a techie or videophile by any stretch of the imagination, but I’m guessing there are a few factors at play that contribute to the better image quality: Fewer resources being used by the TV itself having to run the apps whereas the Fire Stick has ample memory and fast processor to handle the bandwidth better, and there might even be some “upscaling” being done by the Fire to emulate 4K. Not true 4K but sharpened to nearly mimic the end result. Whatever it is, I was actually expecting a drop in quality so an increase isn’t an optical illusion on my part. lolAfter a few days, I decided that I needed one thing that this was lacking….a remote with back-lit buttons. I’ve become spoiled by my universal remote with buttons I can see at night in my bedroom (and the remote is now defunct because it’s infrared and doesn’t work with the Fire Stick). So I threw down $34.99 for the Alexa Voice Remote Pro. Yes, I paid more for a new remote than I did for the Fire TV Stick and remote just to have lighted buttons. LOL BUT the remote has a bunch of other features that make it a little more useful and some features are just cool (you can use both remotes so I have a backup now). It has a “Find my remote” feature, additional, programmable buttons that are super easy, etc. so I’m in Fire TV Stick heaven with this remote plus the Fire TV Stick 4k.I highly recommend this Fire TV Stick. I considered getting the 4K MAX even though I don’t have the latest wifi system that it takes advantage of, but I don’t think I’ll miss it even if my ISP upgrades it’s service

I like it but I hate it doesn’t hold pause for long
Overall, I like the firestick, but it doesn’t hold pause for long. I think 5 minutes is the max and there is no option to change it for longer. It should at least pause up to an hour. And when it holds too long, it kicks you out of the app and won’t return to the app or show you’re watching when you press a button. Also, with the internet part, it tends to freeze and when I go in there, I can’t continue what I was doing the last time. I have to refresh the entire page, which is annoying.

Worth upgrading from older version fire stick
This fire stick has more memory than our previous fire stick. As a result, we have less problems with pauses while watching videos, especially in Hulu. When we notice it pausing to buffer video, I clear the cache for the apps and restart the fire stick. That resolves the problem. We got rid of cable TV 4-5 years ago and only use the fire stick. We don’t miss cable tv at all. We use Netflix, Paramount +, Disney +, Peacock, Hulu, and HBO Max (now MAX) streaming services.

FANTASTIC PIECE OF TECH
I bought this to replace my old Firestick that I bought when they first came out. It worked sort of okay in the beginning but lately it had become a nightmare, constantly buffering, not responding to the remote commands, working very slowly, and often with the sound and video out of sync (like an old Japanese dubbed horror movie) and the speech would slow down like playing a record on the wrong speed. I was afraid the culprit was my internet provider but since the new firestick was only about thirty dollars I decided to try it. I ordered it at about 1:00 p.m. and it arrived by about 6:00 p.m. the same day. Set up was so fast and easy, it was seamless. It works so great now! I’m so pleased with it. It’s easy to navigate and completes all actions quickly and accurately. I love it.

Replaced lost gen 2 remote
I was forced to buy a new remote stick when someone lost the old remote. Decided to buy gen 3 stick and remote and was very pleased I did. The remote does work faster and way less spunning circle on screen. It loads apps quickly and their menus/guides. My mom is jealous so I think I may be buying another one just for her…lol

Necessary
With cable tv dying, this was the only option. So far, works but it takes 12 pushes on the center button to get where I want to go. Progress, I guess. Had to change because my cable company expires in December. As a senior, I am not into all the new (or even old) technology. Seems like streaming is fixing “what ain’t broke,” but I didn’t get to choose. 2 months ago I had never heard of Firestick…now I have 4. Go figure.

A great way to get many TV shows and movies for a one time low price.
This device allows you to watch content from many streaming services, free and paid, such as Tubi, Roku, Freev, Paramount, and others. You can watch old and new TV programs, movies, news, weather, sports, documentaries, historical, and more. Works with your internet service and has a simple to use remote control. It uses your tv’s HDMI input and does not interfere with your off the air tv, cable, or satellite services. I recommend this great product.

Love it for my RV!
We recently purchased a Class C RV with Winegard 360+ which I’m using as a hotspot. The RV has 2 TVs inside and one outside. I have connected this to the TV in the main living area. It’s fantastic!! We use it for all our streaming services including XM radio. The picture quality is great and we can’t tell the difference between this and the quality we had at home through DIRECTTV. Absolutely love it and just bought a second one for the TV in the bedroom.

I bought 2 of these Amazon 4K Fire Sticks. 1 to replace the Fire Tv bundle that stopped receiving updates. I now use it on my TV in the bedroom. And 1 to put on my Amazon Fire Tv that I bought from Best Buy 5 years ago. These fire sticks allow me to have many apps to watch on it.

Volume Control Yes!
Pros:Htpc back in the day were expensive and not this reliable. Tv/Vol control. 4K so device is faster than 1st gen firesticks. Remote has app buttons (Allow us to create favorite apps Please)Cons:Adds, Can I get a user defined home screen u put our apps on a 2nd screen to pollute the screen with adds Id like 10 spaces for my apps instead of adds. My Family have these throughout the house They have different profiles but I want those tied to amazon account so If I setup a User FRED its the same on every device verses having to go setup each persons profile for each device I feel that should be automatic it puts the profile name but doesnt add the apps kinda pointless. Cant voice launch downloaded apps

Works great on my older HD tv; remote doesn’t suck like Roku.
I was torn between Fire Stick and Roku.. based on comparison reviews, the debate was still unsettled, but I went with Fire Stick specifically because I hate the Roku remote with a passion.Set up was a breeze, picture and sound are great, and interface is intuitive. I have an older-ish, smart-ish Sony Bravia tv whose digital functions were lagging horribly to the point of being completely unresponsive. Fire Stick was super responsive. My tv is only HD (not 4K) compatible and looked great. And… the remote doesn’t suck. Happy customer.

Amazon Firestick
I got this firestick so I could watch TV in the bedroom. There are lots of special features and able to watch free TV channels on the firestick. Plus my TV remote would no longer turn the TV on and off. With the firestick I can turn the TV on and off without having to do at the TV.

Basically “zero” onboard memory/storage space (but see update).
This is my first experience using one of these Firesticks … we got it specifically to allow us to download/use game apps like Jackbox on our spiffy new “ultra everything” QLED TV, without having to connect or “broadcast” from a laptop or other external portable device. So far, it’s working great for that, and I’m beginning to appreciate all the apps and access/content it adds to an already impressive lineup of stuff that came with our TV. A lot of the apps are duplicative, but a few aren’t, and those ones are nice add-ons. My only criticism is the ridiculously limited amount of onboard memory storage it comes with. 6GB? Are you freaking kidding me? The OS and native apps literally consume half of that; we downloaded ONE Jackbox “party pack,” and there went the remaining storage space in the Stick. Fortunately, I quickly figured out that you can add an external drive through use of a specialized splitter cable and external USB drive (sold separately), and then use the settings tools in the Stick to format/incorporate the drive into the Stick’s “internal” memory. As tiny and cheap as memory has become for manufacturers to add to such devices, I’m baffled as to how/why Amazon wouldn’t just put a LOT more memory in these things from the get-go, and not make its customers resort to third-party cables/memory resources to make the gizmo function in ways most of its users want/expect it to. Last thing I would say is, make sure you take the time to download and install all available updates when you first power up/install the Stick, and keep checking for new updates at least once a month. Mine’s a brand new 4K Stick, yet I had to go through 6 or 7 update cycles before finally getting to the screen that says, e.g., “your software is up to date.”11/24 update: In my initial review, I indicated there were tools present in the OS for the Stick that allows the user to add external memory. That was based on a YouTube tutorial on the process I saw before I actually got the cable/memory required to do it. Once I got those and tried it, I discovered that these essential tools have been REMOVED from the OS on the 4K Smart Stick! After TWO HOURS on a chat with Amazon tech support, I was finally told, e.g., external memory/drives “can’t be used” with the 4K Stick, which begged the obvious question: Why the h*** is Amazon selling these things (AND many FireStick-compatible games) without giving customers either: 1) FAR more onboard memory for app storage, or 2) tools that allow SIMPLE formatting/use of external/third party memory/drives? The chat tech was at such a loss for an answer to this question that she offered to refund me on EVERYTHING: the Stick; the OTG cable adapter; the USB thumbdrive, AND the 2 “Jackbox Party” games I had already bought. I took the refunds on everything but the Stick, and fumed for another day, convinced there HAD to be a way to add the USB memory. Well, I’m here to tell you, I KEPT searching, and found that there IS another way, but far more complicated than the method I THOUGHT I’d be using when I ordered the expansion memory and required adapter. I found another, excellent video on YouTube created by an English lady that shows how to do it, step-by-step, by downloading a DOS-based “shell” app that allows you to use the FireStick remote to communicate with the FireStick OS through a series of DOS commands, telling the OS to incorporate your external drive/memory into “system memory” for the Stick. You can’t “see” the new memory/drive in the OS settings/storage menu, but I’ve now confirmed that it IS there for storage of any new apps/games you download, all the way up to the maximum available memory on the new drive, in my case, 256GB … far more than enough for my needs, and ensuring I’ll never have this problem again for the service life of the Stick. I’m now entirely happy with the performance of this device, but still fuming that Amazon, either by intent or sheer stupidity/neglect, put one of its long-time, loyal Prime customers in the position of essentially becoming a developer/programmer in order to make one of Amazon’s flagship products work as it should. One more star off for this, with the remaining three representing, e.g., otherwise good product; good “try” by tech support to answer my questions about what was going on, and (so far) great performance of all the apps/functions we’re currently using on this FireStick.

Great Price, Good Speed Navigation-& New TV Option Button
This is much faster than my old fire stick ! I wish I bought more the first time around when I purchased this to replace the one-on my living room big screen TV. I’m going to get a few more to put in family/guest room. Bottom-line if comes with a built in live TV option, that I didn’t have on my other remote. It organizes your apps-for easy TV guide channels browser format which is an additional option if that’s your thing-along with other already free channels for a streamline experience. Of course it comes with more Free Apps, and honestly you can google additional Free apps as well that work with this device to add and watch movies, etc. Install was easy and it can link to your old fire stick to amazon account to merge everything over as well. Really no reason to even pay for expensive cable bills at this point. If you think I’m joking, ha ha-he he- I’m not. LOL-With the Amazon Fire Stick you will get most, if not all the primary options you have with that expense cable bill system. Even if you get Sling TV to make up the gap in all the stations you think you want but don’t consistently watch anyway then fine-you’ll still get all of that and pay less than them $95-$120plus cable bills. Yes you still need WIFI-HM Internet but several $45-$50 options available especially now that T-Mobile and other suppliers are providing Wi-Fi Home Internet. Also for low income families or individuals there’s free internet options through most providers like Verizon etc. from the federal program. Really helpful for seniors, students, etc. Bottom-line-Great Device to get what you want and save money for the family! You’re welcome!

Works good but weird glitches
It works good and does what I needed it to, but the only issue I’ve had is that there are weird unexplained glitches periodically. The Home Screen “recently watched” won’t always update to what you actually recently watched (and on one of the tvs it had something that we never had watched listed first constantly until an update recently). Then I couldn’t access one of my channels at all and actually still can’t on one of my fire sticks? I have the paramount plus prime channel but now I can’t access unless I go directly to paramount plus app. Didn’t figure that out for a bit so my kids were unable to watch paw patrol for a few days and that was a bit of agony for me. Just some weird issues that are sort of irritating but as far as giving me what I needed (access to apps) it provides what I need.

simplified my system and great wiFi
I really don’t watch all that much TV so my systems are a mess with cable and recorders etc. My old plasma upstairs has no wifi. I was using a blue ray for the wifi but it barely worked. pause pause pause nothing. This was about the simplest thing to install.. Right off I got great signal… 60+ download. I have both Prime and Netflix and the fire hooked right up. I am getting the best picture I ever did so I bought another one for the downstairs. Both instalations allowed me to get rid of a lot of wires (clutter)Ok… Don’t even use a smart phone. don’t even know how actually.. The last thing I wanted was complex and… Voice. Speaking to a controller did not appeal. So I didn’t. because of my setup I have to switch between HDMI one and HDMI two. I had to use my TV remote to do this. real pain. Soooo.. just for giggles… I tried voice on the fire remote. “change to HDMI one” (not gonna give my remote a name) and like magic? it does.. now I am like “find westerns” or whatever.Also.. I don’t know that much about controllers but every one I have used till now you had to be good at point shooting… Took me 5k+ rounds to do it with a handgun… with controllers tho? anything at all like your foot in the way and nada. The fire controller seems to work if you are off by 5 feet. Guess you can teach an old dog new tricks…. Now… to get up the courage for the smart phone I have that sits idle.

Great upgrade from android tv
I honestly bought this because i was sick and tired of buying android tv boxes. I decided to get a this fire stick 4k and its a breeze. Brong alot of life to my tv. Theres no lags, scrolling thru apps was a breeze unlike android tv where it lags at times. Most important thing i got the fire stick was because i love gaming and amazon luna came into play. I can now play AAA games without high end equipment. Honestly that wasn’t the only reason i got it. I was tired of scrolling and waiting for apps to open or refresh on android tv. I won’t name few boxes i had but sure this firetv beast them both.

Was pretty mad when our Fire Stick 2 stopped working with a few of our essential apps, but the price is cheap on an upgrade, and the faster performance is far less-frustrating to deal with anyway. if you spend hours watching TV already there isn’t really a reason not to spend the $30 it takes to improve the menu navigation and keep app compatibility.
