Works great and has strong WiFi reception
We’ve had a great experience with the Kasa Smart Plug by TP-Link in our smart home setup. The device works exceptionally well and has a strong WiFi reception that seamlessly integrates into our network. Although it requires the Kasa app to be downloaded on your phone, the device performs well and delivers on its promises. While we would appreciate the convenience of a webpage login to control the device, we’re grateful for the benefits it provides to our business. If you’re looking for a reliable smart plug, we would hrecommend considering the Kasa Smart Plug by TP-Link.

No Instructions!
The 3 rating is because the smart plug arrived with no instructions. I mean nothing. There was not even a tiny piece of paper telling you to go to a web address for setup and operating instructions.

Very pleased, worked perfectly, easy to set up/figure out
How you connect it: download the Kasa Smart app onto your smart phone (available in the Google Play store for Android devices or Apple store for Apple devices…no PC/Chromebook/Linux options). The app will walk you through connecting to the plug, and will connect to your wifi. If you want to control the plug via Alexa/Google, then you’ll connect those services through the Kasa app, then jump into Alexa/Google app and find the new devices. (I did minimal setup in the app, preferring instead to schedule everything via Alexa/Google app so that device controls/settings are all in one place.)About the plug: there is an on/off switch on the side to manually turn it on or off. All this plug does is talk to the app and/or Google/Alexa to turn electricity on or off to the device plugged into it. It isn’t “smart” beyond that; it can’t tell Alexa the status of the device plugged into it or anything similar. Some devices won’t retain their “on” state when they’re turned off, like a computer…simply plugging in a computer won’t power it on. With this type of device, the smart plug won’t power it on for you, because all it does is turn power on or off. This is what you can do within the Kasa Smart app:-Power devices on/off by tapping a power button in the app-Power on/off devices in conjunction with certain events like when you come home, sunset, etc. (called “scenes”)-Power on/off devices on any calendar day (so you could have something turn on in six months from now at 2:45 PM for instance)-Connect it to Alexa, Google, sensors, bulbs, locks, etc., including Samsung Smart Things-Push device firmware updates if availableI’m very impressed, I’ve had a lot of smart apps that were very frustrating, hard to use or didn’t want to pair with the devices or didn’t want to communicate well with Alexa/Google but this one was very easy to use and worked perfectly.

Bought to replace Wemo Mini
I am very happy with the Kasa Smart Plug. I bought it to replace my Wemo Mini which I have had for about 3 years. I’ve had problems with the Wemo as I would have to manually reset the plug and reconnect it to my network, especially when my internet goes out and comes back. I’ve been using the Kasa plug for about a week now and have had no problems with it. My internet has gone out several times and I even had to reset my router modem to factory defaults. After I put back in the same SSID and password that I used before, I didn’t have to set back up my Kasa. It automatically reconnected. As you can see from the pictures, the Kasa plug is shorter than the Wemo. My Wemo plug overlapped the wallplate but the Kasa is about the same width as the wallplate. I like that the button is on the side as well. Setting it up was very easy. There are no instructions in the box but on the box (see pic). I simply downloaded the app and followed the prompts. The app did seem to get stuck when it was connecting the plug to my network so I had to close the app and open it back and then it connected quickly. I also love the app interface. It is clean and I love the way the graphics look. The only thing I would say that I didn’t care for was the blue led light. I’m a person that needs complete darkness to sleep so I had to use black electric tape to take off the side. I wish manufacturers of smart plugs would put in an option to turn off the led light from within the app.Overall I am very happy with the Kasa as it was half the price of my Wemo mini, reconnects after my internet drops, and has a much nicer app interface.

Perfect Size!
I love that fact that you can use the other part of the plug while this is plugged in. Unlike the other larger ones that cover both receptors. Also, so easy to set up!!

Cheap and reliable… if only it did 5 gHz wifi
I use these plugs with Google assistant for a variety of lights and devices around the home. Of course, I have a couple of lights on them, but also a laptop and other devices. Either the TP-Link Kasa software or Google Assistant (with a Routine) can be used to set up scheduled on/off. This is not only great for lights, but if you have a laptop or other battery powered device, leaving it attached to a plugged in charger for long periods can reduce battery life over time. With these plugs I charge my laptop for a 90 minutes a few times a week, which should preserve the battery over the long term. The other thing to consider with smart devices is that you’ll have to have an account not only with Google or Alexa, but also with the device manufacturer (e.g., TP-Link), so it’s a good idea to pick a few brands of devices and stick to them (e.g., TP-Link smart plugs, Feit Electric smart bulbs in my house.) These often go on sale, so pick up a 2 or 4 pack if you can use them for things like holiday lights, too! The primary drawback — common to virtually all of these — is that it only works with a 2.4 gHz band Wifi. Since the 5 gHz band is faster and generally less crowded, it would be nice if they upgraded these for both wifi bands.

Works with the XFI Gateway
I bought this for my husband who is currently unable to turn the light on and off in the living room due to medical conditions, but this was rather easy to install. I noticed it was packed in a mini box and did not immediately see the instructions as the print was too hard for me to read. But I kind of knew right away that I needed to download the Kasa app based on different reviews online that I’ve read on this product, both on Amazon and off other sites.Had created my TP Link Kasa account and then verified myself and was able to connect to Wifi on the Xfinity white XFI Gateway model and then went back to the Alexa App to link the two together. I maybe spent about 8 to 9 minutes setting this up but once it was done, my husband can now use the Echo Dot to turn off the lights. Previously he was using the clapper, which proved to be an issue with mobility and clapping. This was a bargain for the price spent and I may buy a few more in the future once I can expand our technology.

Excellent product, I have about 40 of there switches.. most reliable of any of the brands I’ve tried
I have tried many of the auto switch brand as I have remote properties that I need to monitor and reset devices. I have had problems with WeMo, Blackloud, Amazon switches, and a couple other brands I have tried. Problems from apps that were not the best… to problems with the devices loosing there wifi connects.. etc.. which are all a disaster when your a long way away and can’t unplug it to reset. With Kasa, I have only had this problem with maybe 2 devices out of 40, and they had to be reset. With the other brands I had failure rates up to 50 percent… and then some of the other brands couldn’t find the device a 2nd time etc… With Kasa it seems very stable, no surprises, always works.. everything shows up on the app. So my multi year test and waste of money has come to an end.. I tossed all the old bad choices, and only use Kasa now.. I love automation. I even have these on auto car float chargers and that I just set to go on twice a week for 3 hours.. all works great. I just wait for sales on these and then load up more. Plus I have Alexa echos in my house.. and have all these linked up so I simple say use commands to turn on and off when going to bed.. also use the auto schedule for most items. Pretty cool.

Great plug, but lost its purpose in life . . .
This smart plug fulfills it purpose wonderfully. I just wish it could do more (e.g. like its “big brother,” the Kasa 6 plug power strip, which tracks the electrical usage of each plug).Originally purchased to turn on and off a difficult to access lamp, it lost its purpose after I received just one Philip smart bulb. Well, actually, after the first smart bulb, I realized every lamp and light fixture needed a smart dimmable bulb. While I have, yet, to convert 100% of the fixtures, all lamps are now using Philip smart dimmable bulbs. The bulbs are so much better than an on/off switch.I have yet to find the plug another purpose. The power strip is tracking the electrical usage of my “big computer,” 3 monitors, and external devices (e.g. drives, video capture, hubs, etc). This plug, unlike the strip, can only turn on and off.Our goal with these smart devices is to track and / or reduce our electric usage. Beside the lights and computer, there really isn’t anything we own needing remote on / off capability. It isn’t the plug’s fault, its just got limits. If you need a smart plug, this one or the Amazon smart plug are the ones you should consider. Of course, you should consider getting a plug able to track your electrical needs There is always its brother the strip.5 stars, after all my lack of finding it a new job isn’t its fault.

Smart home – simplified
I’ve selected nothing but TP-Link smart plugs and switches for my home for two simple reasons:- Their app is the best… I can easily set my lighting schedule for all my bulbs and wall switches using easy program steps. Just to say “program” is deceptive – it’s not complicated at all. I especially love that I can turn lights on at sunset and off at sunrise, based on my precise location. So in the winter, the lights come on earlier that the summer. TP-Link makes this drop-dead easy to do.- I can use just one app on my phone to control all these things. If you start trying several different companies’ products, you end of with several different companies’ apps on your phone. I stumbled onto TP-Link first when I wanted to turn my espresso machine on in the morning before I wake up. I loved how I could have it come on automatically at 6am – but if I was awake earlier, I could have Alexa turn the machine on earlier. Why mess with several apps when TP-Link works so well with Alexa and my phone?

Decent plug for the price
This is a decent smart plug considering the price. It works, and it will connect w/Alexa. The side button for manual operation works better than a front button for applications where it might be behind a dresser, appliance, etc.The downsides, and the reasons I consider it an average product are:- Requires an app to configure. Really, the last thing I want is another app on my phone, especially to control smart devices in my house when my goal is to consolidate in Alexa or Smartthings. None of my other smart plugs require a third-party app to connect, they are simply discoverable.- Significant lag w/Alexa. I have this plug controlling an LED light strip under my kitchen cabinets and it’s grouped with my other kitchen lights. While every other light comes on immediately, there is always a lag of several seconds before this plug responds. More of an irritation.- Tends to start falling out of the outlet if you have something bulky plugged into it, perhaps with a transformer integrated in the plug vs an everyday plug (like for a lamp). I think this is because of it’s primarily horizontal orientation vs a vertical orientation like other smart plugs I have. It hasn’t fallen out altogether yet, but whenever I look at it I wind up pushing it fully back in to the socket.

Super easy to setup and configure
I wanted to get a plug so I could set up a timer for my Christmas tree this year. I knew I could get an analogue timer, but wanted something I could use after the holiday season was over for other uses. I trust TheWirecutter.com when it comes to new products, but after looking at the reviews on the Wemo Mini not lining up with their experience, I took a chance on this plug, as it was on sale.I downloaded the Kasa app onto my phone (Pixel 3a), created an account, and then followed the instructions on the device to sync it to my account and wifi network. Once I did that, I was able to name it, give it a schedule and then tie it to my Google Home account. The scheduling options are more robust than I expected, and it allowed some variance as to when my tree came on. Now the thing is figuring out what to use it for next now that I’ve taken my tree down.

Smart plug replaces flakey astronomical timer
I’ve used astronomical timers for some time but have noticed the ones I currently have (Intermatic brand) are pretty sucky. Two of my outdoor ones failed after several years, the replacements don’t correctly adjust with daylight savings (sunset/sunrise times stupidly don’t adjust), and now my indoor timer just flat out switched time zones to one halfway around the world. The best thing with Kasa plugs is THEY JUST WORK! the outdoor timers were replaced with KASA outdoor plugs, and I love how they just properly work based on what I’ve set them too (5 min post sunset). With my luck, it was a no brainer to replace the flaky indoor timer with KASA as well. They have great customization and again, JUST WORK! 🙂

Hard to beat TP-Link
These cubes plugs have a slightly lower rating the the larger ones, so keep that in mind and look at your exact needs. These are perfect for lots of application. I use these to shut off a power strip with lots of vampire plugs on it. Has timer and schedules and a great I phone app that sees updates often. I’d advise against buying no name plugs, as each brand needs a different and sometimes questionable application. Caught a firmware update on install, but as always reliable. I’ve been using TP link for years to control bits in my home that can be difficult to reach ( I use one on a balky smart fridge so I don’t have to go out to the breaker panel when it crashes)perfect with alexa, give it a try, you won’t know how you lived without it. Solid out of network operation too on my iphone

Super easy and reliable
I’ve purchased 5 of these plugs now and have them placed all over my house. They are very easy to setup with the Kasa app, which walks you through the quick process very clearly. I’ve had them for a couple of months now and have had no issues with them, even after a couple of power outages and a new router/wi-fi network (you will have to reconfigure the plugs if you change your network). I’ve also purchased their two-outlet plug. One thing I wish TP-Link had is a single-outlet plug that runs sideways when plugged in. When connecting a wire to the plug, it sticks out further from the wall, which can sometimes be an issue if you’re trying to put the plug in a tight space, like behind furniture. A sideways option (similar to their two-outlet plug design) would be great.

Very good controllers, but they could be better…
While these modules are pretty easy to install and work the vast majority of the time, there is one missing piece of functionality. You can set an activity to occur at sunset or sunrise, but this product does not understand the concept of an ‘offset’, the ability to set it to go on or off a specified times before or after sunset or sunrise (for example, 30 minutes after sunset). This would be very useful when turning outside lights on 30 minutes after sunset instead of at sunset itself. There is still too much light outside at sunset to require lights and having these lights come on at a more appropriate time would make far more sense. X-10 products from almost 20 years ago has this functionality, so it can’t be that hard to program.

It definitely turns things on 😉
It does exactly what it’s supposed to do. It plugs in, syncs up, and turns things on…and off… with just the sound of your voice. It took some time activating it. I had to run through the steps twice. I didn’t like that I had to download another app (and set up another account), but the app syncs with Alexa easily and it doesn’t seem like they send a bunch of emails, so that’s good.Good working product for the price. Go get it!

Works perfectly with Alexa for controlling my plug-in lights
I’ve used several of these now for the past year. They integrate seamlessly with Alexa, so I can use Alexa to turn my lights on or off using voice commands. You can also set up the Kasa Smart Plug to work like a timer, to turn your lights on or off at specific times or simulate being home with random on and off times. I’ve replace most of my previous timers with these and plan to add a few more to eliminate all my prior old-fashioned timers. They have no problem finding my WiFi network. These have a nice small size, so they leave the other outlet on duplex outlets free. Once you have them set up, you can pretty much forget them. They just work like you’d expect.

It Just Works
I use these with Google home and they’re SUPER simple to set up. I have 4 of them controlling lights around my house and they do exactly what I need them to do… Just turn lights on and off!I use the schedule feature for each wall plug so the lights automatically turn on around the time my partner gets home from work, and then shuts off by around 10pm each night to save on electricity. Works consistently every time!

Setup was a bit confusing but works aw advertised.
This is my first smart plug from this particular manufacturer. Two issues – 1: you need to be on 2.4Ghz and not 5Ghz. Found that information online, but not in the app.2: While setting up the plug in the app, it said I needed to be connected to MY Wi-Fi, which I was. Actually, at that point, I needed to connect to the plug’s Wi-Fi signal. That part wasted a ticket to their help desk.Speaking of which, I give a big two thumbs up to their help desk. They responded quickly and gave me a link to instructions that explained it much better than what was in the app. Except for that one little setup glitch, it seems to work well, and I quickly linked to Alexa and tested it several times. I think it will work well for my application.

Easy to install and so far it works
The plug came in a little carton box with no instructions on how to set it up. I think they should add a QR code on the outside or inside of the box to make the installation of the app easier. You need to download the Kasa Smart app by TP-LINK Research America and create an account. The app is very easy to use and it made it very easy to add the smart plug to the account. I like that the app lets you setup a timer, a schedule and an away schedule. It doesn’t have the option to track how much electricity it has used, but it keeps track of how long the plug has been on.After setting up the smart plug, Alexa recognized the smart plug right away after turning on the TP-LINK Kasa skill. So far, it has worked really well. Besides not having instructions in the box, I don’t like that it makes a loud click when you turn it on or off. I don’t see any sparks coming out of it, but the sound makes me feel like it’s going to stop working if I use it frequently.

It’s inexpensive
It works for turning on a circuit but you also must manually turn it off.I wanted it to replace a timer and to turn on a oil filled heater in my bedroom and then turn off the heater after several hours ( 4 or so) but it is not capable of that. You must turn the heater on manually with the app and then turn it off manually with the app every time. I might as well turn it on and then turn it off when needed. I usually need to make a trip to the water closet in about 4 hours anyway!I’ll find a use for it somewhere in the future.

Works like a charm!
I’ve been using my TP-Link HS103 Kasa Smart Plug Lite for a few months now and it does exactly what it’s supposed to do very reliably! I use it to turn my lights on and off on a schedule and remotely. As the mornings have become darker (before DST) I’ve set up a schedule for it to turn on in the morning about the time I get up and to turn off when I’m gone for work and it comes on before I arrive home, staying on until bed time. I often go to bed before the timer, but I love that I can turn it off from my room and my path was illuminated to get there! The one thing I don’t like is the random on-off-on away from home feature, it turns off more often than I would if I were home, for longer duration, I really want it to stay on, I’d rather that it just adjusted the times that it came on at the beginning of the evening and then off at bed time. If someone were casing my home, they’d be used to my pattern of leaving it on, so I just use my regular schedule when I’m away.

Working great for our outdoor lights
We have some string lights on our screened in porch that we can now easily turn on and off using Alexa. Install was very easy from the TP Link app on my Android phone (called Kasa). Alexa found the device automatically. We manually turn the lights on and off using Alexa voice commands (ie. Alexa turn on porch lights) so I’m not using the Kasa app to turn them on/off using a schedule. The lights respond almost instantly. I do have a two outlet outdoor TP Link plug (KP400 – highly recommended) that I am using to turn some other lights on at sunset and off at 10:30PM. The scheduling feature on the app works great. The only negative is it is fairly large and takes up two outlets on our 6 outlet wall plug. I knew that when I ordered so I’m not dropping any stars. I would definitely buy this again.

I tried ’em all… now standardizing on TPLink
I’ve tried at least a half dozen brands of these type devices, including in-wall switches. It’s time to standardize to make it easier to deal with so I chose TPLink. The app works great and the devices work quickly with the Alexa integration. I’m giving away all the other brands I’ve tried- one app, properly working stuff is all I want now. It’s rare that one loses connection, but if they do- it seems they are back online quickly. I’ve even decided to go with the whole TPLink ecosystem of cameras and in-wall dimmers. If you’re unsure which brand to go with, I’ve been into home automation since we used to have to write our own scripts for X10 protocol… there’s not much out there I haven’t tried. TPLink is consumer grade and low priced, but it performs really well. In my case, I’ve even used a spare older router just to connect to the 38 automation devices separately from the regular internet devices… I’m really happy with the performance and prices.

I purchased this item because it was reasonably priced and had good reviews. When I initially tried to set it up, I worked on it for about 2 hours using an Android and OS devices. Still no luck. Despite the instructions that suggests restarting the modem, I decline because my other 10+ devices were working perfectly. I was going to return it the next day but had other things to do. Just before hitting the return button, I made one last try and restarted my modem and it connected along with Alexa. I set up Alexa on the day it was not working. I tested it by asking Alexa to turn on/off and it worked. I will consider purchasing other products.

Worked well for my Christmas lights
Rather that plug/unplug Christmas lights in three places multiple times a day, I tried these this year. It was great! I just opened the app and tap-tap-tap the lights on/off as I wanted throughout each day. I might’ve been able to make Scene to do it all in one-tap, but it so easy already that I didn’t bother. There was generally a couple seconds delay as the app connected after a period of non-use. Once or twice this was a bit longer.Overall no issue. I’ll probably find more good uses during the rest of the year and use these again.

I like it
I ordered this because I got special pricing by ordering through Alexa. It was cheap enough to try something new out. It was easy to integrate with my cellphone and our home wireless internet. I like that I can turn on the bedside lamp in my room prior to entering the room and then I can turn it off from my phone before I go to sleep. It has some other features like timers and energy monitoring that I don’t really use that often, but the timers may be useful for times we are away for an extended trip. It’s a convenient and nice little gadget.

We love TP Link
We love these! We bought a few extra for all of our Christmas lights this year. Being able to put them on her schedule was amazing. I also love to tell Alexa. Hey Alexa turn on Christmas and they all just light up together throughout the house.TP Link Has been the best brand we found so far that carries all smart lights across the board. All forms of smart switches and plugs across. One app to control everything instead of multiple apps figuring out which light or switch is on which app. Some of their switches are a little bit more expensive than competitors however many competitors don’t have the 3 way switches or the dimmers.

So simple that our kid can use it.
I found that Kasa is very responsive and easy to use! So simple that my six year one son can use it on his iPad or our Alexa. Our air conditioners are plugged into the units and we have them timed to go on at 6:30. We also tell Alexa to turn them on or off for us. During Christmas, we used it for our tree. We want to get more of them so we can easily turn things on and off easily. We have had them for a year. No complaints at all!

Best of many I’ve tried
I’ve tired several of these types of devices and although most of them work fairly reliably, this one s the best I’ve used. It works through an app called Kasa. This one is very responsive and turns off and on just about instantaneously when the switch in the app is tapped. Others I’ve used are not nearly as responsive. This one is similar in speed to turning a light switch on and off. One minor downside is that the app doesn’t yet have ability to create a schedule. A workaround is to use Alexa to create a schedule in the Alexa app. Construction seems high-quality. I have had this only a few days, so I can’t speak to its long term reliability.

Works well with Alexa
Its very easy to set up with the Kasa app and works great with Alexa/Echo. Its not expensive and can add a bit of home automation. I bought two of these small plugs for our TVs and an outdoor one for our inflatable pool. It does add some bulk to the plug so make sure you make room for that. The plug goes straight in. Here is a picture of the TV plugged into the Kasa Plug, then into our surge protector behind our media cabinet.

Does exactly what it’s supposed to
Great product, easy to install and works well with Alexa. Timers are easy to set and forget. After trying, I’ve bought several. My only complaint is that it’s a bit bulky. I understand the need for the depth, but with it wasn’t so wide. It’s not practical for use on many power strips or multi-outlet wall sockets because it will overlap over other outlets.

FOR $10!!! So easy its ridiculous! I had my 80 year old mom set one up!

We have had some garage break-ins in our area and someone recommended I get one of these for my garage. Using the app on my phone lets me set the timer. Now I don’t have to worry about anyone using a garage door opener to get in. Great product.

Very useful!
Great product! In my situation it’s hard to reach where I have my night lights plugged in. This smart plug makes it super easy to turn on the lights at dusk without struggling to reach the outlet. I did not connect to Alexa nor did I need tech support so I have no comment on that. The installation steps were easy to follow but just a little frustrating waiting for it to connect. I had to retry several times.

Works perfectly with Samsung SmartThings
I have been looking for a replacement outlet to replace the previous one I had that wasn’t working with my new Samsung SmartThings set up. I did a little research and found out that this one synchronizes with the Kasa app, so I decided to give it a try it worked perfectly right out of the box. I paired it up and was good to go. I also love the fact that it has a light on the side to let you know if it is on or not and the switch nice as well. If this was helpful or you like my review, please click “Helpful” Many Thanks!

No assistance with customer support
I have 3 other smart plugs which I purchased on Amazon which are working fine. I purchased 2 other smart plugs on Amazon , and I cannot connect either one. The customer support on T-Link is not helpful and difficult to connect with my particular issue. I have no other option than to return the last 2 smart plugs. Please provide customer support for items sold on Amazon if you wish to increase your smart plug sales.

Using it to restart my network periodically
I found I needed to restart my home network a little more frequently than I would like while working from home during the pandemic. This remote plug was cheap enough. I simply setup a schedule in the Kasa app to restart everything for 2 minutes overnight. I was worried about how a remote WiFi switch would turn back on. I did a little research, and found these better quality switches store their schedules. It has been working flawlessly for a week now.

Easy setup- great device!
As my home gets “smarter” I am glad that I got smarter and now purchase only devices that are very smart! No need for a hub to attach to the system. It works excellentlly with Alexa. All my plugs are easily listed in the app which controls them all. Naming them was simple as was getting everything connected. I’ve been pleased with the Wyze family and I find their stuff works!

Does what it’s supposed to do
The product works well but not for my needs. I wanted to use it to power up my stereo but there’s no way to keep my unit from defaulting back to thinner after power goes off. It would be great with a lamp.

So convenient
I purchased three of these Kasa TP smartplugs for Christmas. I couldn’t find my Kasa plug that I purchased last year. I became frustrated having to pull my Christmas tree light plug out every evening. After two days, I decided that’s it, I’m purchasing smartplugs. I already had my Kasa app on my iPhone, so syncing the three plugs was easy. I set the timer to go on in the evening at 5pm and turn off at 11 pm. Throughout the holidays my Christmas tree lights and two decorative garland lights went on and off without problems. I will definitely be purchasing more. The price is reasonable. Quality , use and consistency of these plugs are a plus.

Good Smart Plugs – could be less noisy
These are the first ever smart plugs I’ve tried, mainly to turn my lamps into “smart lamps”. While they work flawlessly there is one thing to note that whenever I turn on my lights using the app or by asking Google, there’s this ticking noise that can be improved. Also, I got two of these, both work but the second one seems to have some connectivity issues and sometimes it won’t turn on when I ask Google or use the app.

Much better than the Belkin WeMo plug
I have 6 of these wifi plugs in my home. I got rid of the Belkin WeMo wifi plugs after the app became useless and replaced them with the TP-link plugs. They were cheaper and smaller so I could easily use both outlets in the plug unlike the bulky Belkin plugs. They were super easy to set up and have been reliable since day one. Even after a power outage they all reset automatically. The Kasa app was well thought out and very easy to use. Much more user friendly than the Belkin app.

iOS App Barely Works
Spent 40 minutes trying to get the plug connected via the Kasa iOS app. No luck. Was about ready to return the thing. Finally tried setup via my Fire HD with the Kasa Android app and it finally worked first try. Plug works as intended now. It has an audible click when turning on and off. The click is much louder than my Wyze plugs. It works, but I probably won’t be buying anymore of these. I prefer the wyze plugs, but needed this one specifically for an Octoprint plugin to turn the printer off after the print job finishes.

Great plug… just go ahead and order 6 at a time because you’ll use them everywhere.
This is one of those things I didn’t think I would need as much as I ended up actually using. I put 2 on a couple lamps, loved them. Work seamlessly with Alexa. Then I ordered a couple more. Then I found out they integrate into the Ring / Alexa Guard alarm system and order a couple more so the alarm system can rotate lights on and off to look like I’m home when I’m not. Then 2 more for a couple fans. Then another for Christmas lights on the tree… Seriously, they are so handy, you’ll order more. Might as well just get them up front and save your self some time. LOL

Best smart plugs!
I have purchased a few of these because they are so easy to set up and use! I use them with Google and the plug paired simply and successfully with no trouble. I loved being able to turn my Christmas tree on and off by using this plug! Also great for lamps, fans, or whatever else!Great value for money, highly reliable, and super simple to set up!

Smart Plug
I got this so that I could have my water distiller on a timer. I like to cut it off before it’s done so that it’s easier to clean…This plug was easy to set up for that. I wasn’t able to get it connected to Alexa or Google (I have both), I think i tried with Alexa for a bit then just said forget it. I only use it for the one appliance anyways.

So Far, So Good
I had a competing brand smart plug that would not reconnect after a power interruption. Furthermore, the online help support for that issue did not correct the problem. I depended upon that wifi outlet to operate a remote device. After several frustrating attempts to resolve the situation, I decommissioned the ( we mow) device and replaced with the Kasa. After a two or three power blinks, the device reconnects without issue. I do not use Alexa integration nor have used tech support.

Once I got it going its great
Set up was a bit of a problem, there is only a small direction on the side of the box. I couldn’t get the united to sync only to find I was in the wrong settings after looking at a youtube video. Once set they work great and connected with Alexa no problem.

It did not do what it was suppose to do
I connected it to my wifi router I wanted so I could power the router off and on I was able to power the router off with the phone but it would not power the router back on with my phone. I returned back to Amazon.

My favorite smart outlets
I have about 10 smart outlets installed around the house. Half are the earlier versions of these that are big and bulky and cover the entire outlet and the other half are this small, sleek version. I love em. I can’t think of a single time I’ve had a problem with them. They just work. No resetting necessary. I set schedules for them and/or use them with Alexa and they work perfectly. No need for dang hub either. I get the purpose of the hub to help with network congestion but I haven’t had any issues with these. Buy them. Do it.
