Barely works
This product shuts off after a minute of use. I contacted support back when I bought it and they gave me some instructions. They did not do the trick and this has pretty much been a paper weight for me. I was frustrated by lack of quality support and honestly gave up but got no use out of this item.

Bought as a gift to replace faulty TAB 3 which was several years old
Very nice, came preloaded with version 7 operating system which was better than expected. A bit of a learning curve as compared to the older TAB 3. I would recommend this, has many new features that I haven’t yet figured out.

Nice product! As others said, it is indeed easy to setup and configure as there are detailed instructions. It boosted the signal pretty good both for a PC and mobile phone. I took one star off as there is no information about the manufacturer or the website where a firmware upgrade file can be downloaded. The manual says download “from our website”, but none is provided, that’s odd! When I searched by the device name, “WF8500”, I found only a closely related (by item name) Samsung washing machine and Epson printer in top results… When I attempted to go to slopehill.com (the Amazon seller “slopehill”), this web address was not valid (actually listed for sale), so it must be not the manufacturer name. No clue from the item itself, its box, enclosed instructions or description on its Amazon web page. Fortunately, a firmware upgrade is optional step, and the WiFi signal was boosted already. There was a couple of other minor issues. 1) The Installation Guide says that before starting, check if there’s anything missing in the package, and contact your dealer of purchase to claim for missing items: 1xWiteless-N Repeater, 1x RJ-45 Networking Cable, 1x Quick Installation Guide. RJ-45 cable was not included, but I don’t see on the Amazon product description page. This option (using a a cable) is optional, and you can configure a new network wirelessly, or use your own RJ-45 cable, but the Guide seems outdated as is. Ok, the repeater is cheap already, fair enough 🙂 2) There is a “USB charging interface” on the Repeater from both the Amazon product page and Installation Guide, but it’s function is not described. I presume it is not required for charging the device, but possibly provides an option to connect to a USB port to power this Repeater if there is no AC outlet? 3) The Amazon product description listed 2 other features – “Guest Mode” and “Fast Charge”, but these are not addressed in the Quick Installation Guide (and no website address as I mentioned above).Within our apartment we lose signal in one of the back bedrooms which just happens to be the master bedroom. This obviously creates issues if we want to watch YouTube while laying in bed which is why I wanted to get a Wifi extender to see if we could boost the signal. Upon plugging the booster in and running a speed test we saw great improvements in both upload and download speeds in that room. Purchased this wifi extender to help get a stronger connection for our skybell wireless doorbell. We were getting laggy videos and slow alerts when we had a recorded video. My husband purchased this wifi repeater to hopefully get the skybell functioning at at least 85-90% for better videos and faster alerts. My husband was able to set up the repeater as an extender very easily. The instructions are easy to follow and within 30 minutes we had it completely set up and plugged into the outlet nearest the skybell, we are now getting 92%. We tested the videos and alerts and all are working as the should. Before getting this extender we were thinking of returning the skybell. This extender was what we needed to complete the doorbell upgrade at a great price. I recommend this repeater to anyone needing an extender or access point to add to their existing wireless network. You won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic stuff Works just as it should. The screen size is ideal—neither it’s too large nor too small. The battery lasts for life and is quite light to hold in your palm. A tablet with a good screen brightness and sufficient functionality. It’s not a high-end tablet, but it works. Although the tablet’s camera is not great, who really buys a tablet to snap pictures? Excellent tablet overall.

Other reviews of this tablet are pretty accurate actually, but you have to put it in perspective. Here’s my take on this tablet.1) No, the screen isn’t as bright as a Surface RT. I’ve had a surface RT and the screen was astonishingly bright. The Tab A 8.0 screen is merely adequately bright and I have no complaints. Turn off Auto Brightness.2) No, it isn’t a blazingly fast processor on paper, merely a quad core. It has, however, done everything I need to do with no lag or hesitation. It is faster than a 10″ Tab 4 I used to have.3) No, it doesn’t have a real loud speaker. I have loud speakers on my desk and also headphones. No complaints.4) no it only has 1.5 GB of ram. Have not had any issues though.5) No it doesn’t have a 10 inch screen. This is a 8″ tablet, that would be impossible. I’ve had no issues with the screen resolution. It looks bright and vibrant and is not pixelly at all. Looks very good actually.6) No, it isn’t an iPad. This is by Samsung, not Apple. And it’s a fraction of the price.7) No it isn’t extremely light. In fact, it’s much heavier than my phone. Because it’s bigger than my phone. That’s the point.This tablet was obtained for only one sixty five and I have loaded it up with everything I can think of and I successfully used it on an IT service call as a laptop replacement. I also got a fintie keyboard case for it and a smays ethernet adapter/usb hub. This tablet literally does everything I need my laptop to do. VPNs, remote desktop, keyboard, mouse, ethernet, network scanning, you name it.I also use it for surfing the web and some games. I have put in a SD card. I can attach flash drives and external HD. It supports OTG. It updated itself to android 6.0.1 immediately on powerup out of the box.Now, full disclosure, I was looking at a 10.1 with the Pen but someone decided that being in a wish list meant I was willing to suddenly pay a hundred more for it.I would buy the Tab A 8.0 again and heartily recommend it as an excellent android tablet.

Nice size for the 50 plus age group.
A real good choice for the 50’s plus casual tablet 8.0 user who does not need a “Status Image” of an Ipad. It has very good screen resolution and the apps and storage upgrade is hard to beat. The only down side is the Camera which had a very grainy and not very sharp photo ability was my only complaint……. but i didn’t buy it to take photo’s, so it ranks lower on the must have rating. It came with Excel and Office apps and that was a plus. I can’t think of any reason NOT to buy one, especially when you can get one for around 160 bucks including shipping. The 10.1 is good, but the larger screen size and the higher price difference made no sense to spend 100 dollars more for such little extra. As Mikey was told in the LIFE cereal commercial by his brothers ….Try it you’ll like it !! . .

I like that it was very compatible with windows applications. It is usually a favorite buy for me. My first Samsung tablet still works but not this one. It all of a sudden wouldn’t cut on. It worked 2 years then quit about a month ago without warning.

Slow and unpreedictable responce to finger touch tap!
As I said in the title, its a bit aggravating when it does not respond to tap. Sometimes I have to tap several times. does not seem to matter if I use finger or stylus. The sound is mediocre at best, but I guess that is an issue with many tablets. It is ok with earbuds, but still not great. I was a little spoiled with my old kindle 8.9 hdx and its 2 speakers. Not the tablets fault, but if you are used to a kindle layout, you will find this hard to adjust to. I believe it acts more like an I phone which I don’t have, so am having a hard time getting used to the look of the layout. Having a little trouble getting this tablet to sync or work with my kindle account. Quite different from what i’m used to on my old kindle. Some times it will download book and sometimes not. All in all this is just and ok tablet. A little slow, guess I did not look at speed of processor. I will certainly check the process speed if and when I buy another. Would not buy this again.

Great product the Galaxy Tab A 8″
Great product the Galaxy Tab A 8.0″ for my 6 year old daughter. It has 16 GB that is enought to have more than 50 programs at the same time on the tablet. Nice sound and very good 8″ screem. Price less than $160. Good battery. It may be better Galaxy Tab with the 32 GB, but they are too expensive for the use my daughter will do for $450.We previously bought her a cheaper, very bad qualitty unit for about $100 that was used only for a few days because of the bad quality of screen, battery and very limited memory size of 8 GB.Update: march 2018There’s a new version Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8″ (2017) even better than the old one. It has 64 GB, 2GB Ram. I bought it for $195.

Doesn’t feel like that much of an upgrade from my last galaxy Tab from a few years back. It is pretty slow to load desktop versions of websites. It does the job adequately, but it doesn’t shine.It’s quite a bit bigger than my last 8 inch tablet, too. Makes it awkward to hold. Having said all that, it is still a Samsung and it does the job I need it to do. It’s just not quite what I was expecting; if you are transitioning from an older 8 inch Samsung, I would adjust my expectations.

Samsung never disappoints!
I have been a fellow Android lover since the beginning and here is another reason why. I’m an avid reader and lover of tablets ever since the first Nook from Barnes & Noble came out like 8 years ago…. I have had the Nook, Nook HD and finally the Amazon Kindle Fire HD (never get that!) This is BY FAR the best out of all of those, the clarity of HD, all the features are just like the Samsung Galaxy cellphones and the WiFi connectivity is quick, downloading books or apps is easy and fast and watching Netflix or Amazon Videos are clear and its just been a breeze. Now I mainly use my tablet for reading, downloading books, watching Netflix and quick surfing of the web so if that is mainly what you want a tablet for then this is Gold.

My Dad Loves It
I got it for my dad for Christmas for his old unbranded cheap tablet is crapping out on him. He’s been eyeing one of these buggers every time we were at electronics section of stores so I finally caved and bought this for him. He really loves it more than his old tablet. Had it for about 7 months or so now and it seems to still work great. Did not slow down like his old tablet. My dad only uses this tablet to read his news and plays his slot machine apps but still heavily used but this tablet can handle it.

Amazing tablet!
Bought this for my Grandson as a Christmas present (he’s 7). This tablet is the perfect size for him and he absolutely loves it! He uses it mostly to watch kids YouTube and Netflix as well as Hulu and have not had any issues with it at all. Him being only 7 he’s not going to be doing any quantum physics with it so I can’t speak on anything like that, bit for the price it’s an amazing tablet and I highly recommend it!

Good Recreational tablet.
I use this tablet for banking, email, social media and simple games. It is great for all of those activities. The processing is somewhat slow so it is not as suitable for business spreadsheets, correspondence or as a student main computter. I use my Kindle to read books but this tablet is light enough and clear enough to use any e-reader app successfully

I am replacing a 7″ Tab A and I am very happy with this model. The main reason I am writing the review is to advise on finding a case since I had some trouble. None of the ads for Galaxy Tab A 8″ cases say whether they fit the new 2019 model T380. Turns out the cases made for 2018 Tab A do not fit the 2019, but the 2017 cases and screen protectors do.

Prefect Tablet for its size
This is my second Samsung tab a, I really enjoy this tablet over any others because it is easy to use has a great battery life and great value for what you are paying grated this specific model is 5 yrs old because it came out in 2015. It’s reliable and still able to keep up with newer models that are currently available now.

Not much storage
Not enough storage for today’s world. I’m always running out and having to delete things. Video is just okay. Can’t run other apps while watching a video. The clarity is good though. Great price, but not useful for more than casual usage.

8.0 Samsung Galaxy Tab A met expectation!
This was given as a Christmas gift to my “great granddaughter” who happens to be 3 years old turning 4 on June 3rd. My granddaughter, her mother programmed the topics/features that she could utilize. I’ve always LOVED Samsung Galaxy products. I’ve never had any issues with them! This is a gift, so I can’t report on how well it actually works yet. Ok for what you pay for
Good tablet but slow for the everyday computer geek (myself) it becomes frustrating waiting for it to catch up with typing, web searching and having multiple windows open….guess I should have spent a lot more for what I was looking for. Overall battery life is good and reading mode lighting is nice and cuts down on the blue light.

Great tablet for the bargain price
Great product. Works just as described. The screen size is just right…not too big and not too small. Quite light to hold on your hand and batter lasts forever. Good screen brightness and a decent tablet for basic use. Not a high end tablet, but it gets the job done. Camera quality is pretty bad, but who really buys a tablet to take pictures? Order this last year in January 2019 and at 1st it was doing good but now it’s starting to act up, it’s starting to freeze, It’s also starting to run slow and I’m not even using all the memory on it.And itveven got to the point that It got so badd, That it froze, I had to look up how to re-boot it.It was doing OKAY for a few weeks but now Now starting to do the same thing all over again. I like Samsung’s I really don’t have a problem with them usually they always work good for me. Very light weight, easy to hold.
I am 100% satisfied with my new tablet. Received it on time. I highly recommend.It is very light and super easy to use. This is the best size for casual surfing. I have a laptop, I just needed something to keep handy. It has Microsoft office installed, so you can use as a laptop if you don’t have one.

Affordable for a new tablet.
Nice tablet. I got the platinum. Its prettier than I thought it would be. I’ve owned a lot of samsung tablets. Samsung has never disappointed me. The tablet delivered quickly. Very happy with Amazon also.

I have bought several of these. This one was an award for church. This is a very good tablet for anyone to use. My wife and Pastor both like them because they fit into a purse and are easy to carry. They work very well and are very well made.
