Using Alexa? Buy these lights!
I have smart lights controlled via a hub/app and other smart plugs with apps that control smart lights. After installing my first Amazon light I ripped all the others out and re-programmed my house using the new ones. No hub and no app needed (except Alexa of course). All you do is start up Alexa and plug in a light and Alexa auto registers it. Rename the light, assign it to a group, and your done. So much easier…

So easy!
These are a huge improvement from the off-brand smart bulbs I was replacing. I literally just popped these in and turned on the lights, and Alexa recognized them and connected with them without me having to do anything else. So far they work great.

Sometimes disconnects
Sometimes the alexa cannot connect, it doesnt happen often enough to be a huge problem. usually ill turn it off and back on at the source (lamp the bulb is in) and that works to reset it. Super cool you can control the light if you arent home. Love that you can set up times for it to come on and off.

Good light
I bought this lightbulb because the price was right and I hoped that it would cut down on all the different smart plugs I have all over my house. I also wanted something dimmable. I have problems with light sensitivity sometimes and I like how easy it is to adjust this light to make it more comfortable for me. Also, sometime I need a lot of light for something but at other times I need just a little more light and I love how much I can adjust this for my specifications.The set-up was a bit of a pain as it didn’t want to connect at first, and the light color is more yellow then I expected.

it’s just a remote controlable color bulb
you can change the color remotely, other than that, it’s a just bulb.I think Echo Glow is a better choice, but you can just screw that onto any existing bulb socket.Echo Glow has ‘mode’ setting, The color of lights changes in a predefined pattern. This Smart A19 LED Light Bulb does not. I wish it can. That would be nice.

Functionality
I’d like if it would dim a little lower , but I’m pleased with my purchase. Easiest bulbs I’ve bought factoring in the my smart home is controlled by echo dots . If you’re using Alexa to control smart devices this bulb is the one .

The only reliable smart lightbulb that I have found
I just reordered one of these for my son’s dorm room. It’s the only smart lightbulb that passed my basic use.I was grabbing a lamp for his dorm room and it had a different brand of smart lightbulb in it. That brand is flaky and falls off the system all the time along with other connectivity issues. I don’t want him to have a bad experience with his first smart lightbulb. The last thing a first year college student living away from home for the first time needs is the constant frustration of a flakey smart lightbulb.So, maybe I can just tell him to use it like a normal lightbulb. But, then it flashes all these colors every time he turns on the light. Well, I guess that could be cool or really annoying. I guess I will just have to get him the only reliable smart lightbulb that I know of. So, here I reordered him one of these guys. It’s great.We have great WiFi connectivity throughout our home, this is something I hear is important with this type of smart lightbulb. Distance to the router or WiFi booster/repeater is a factor in how your experience will be. I’m not sure what that looks like, we have great connectivity and speed. But, worth noting to ensure a good experience.I use this smart lightbulb for the color changing and diming features. The on and off features I find to be less useful, though I use them. The smart bulb brings extra functionality to a functionally limited everyday item. I am a warm white kind of person, soft white when you need it a little brighter. I use both of these colors of this bulb on a daily basis. I set it to 1% brightness when I am getting ready to sleep and just want a dim light, no need for an extra lamp. If I have a headache but still need a light to see I can set the color to red which I find less stimulating during a headache. If I am feeling a little funky I can go purple or teal, it’s fun to see what these different color lights do to the colors, patterns, and prints around your room. I integrate the light into automated routines for my morning and goodnight and others. It’s handy, helpful, and brings extra function to your regular old light fixture.

Well Worth the Extra Couple of Dollars/Euro to buy Quality Amazon lightbulbs
I decided to try something different and operate my light-bulbs through the Alexa system. This was much better and easier than I thought it would be. It has about 16 different color choices and by verbal command you can also set it to at least 10 different intensity settings. All by verbal commands. Because they operate from any echo dot device, it took me about a week or so to get used to the new idea that I did not have to turn lights off and on while in the same room. As an example, I can simply get into bed and turn different different lights on and off. Of course you can rename the lights to anything you want such as dining room or living room, closet etc. Because this is made for the Alexa system and sold by Amazon, there is no need to have any kind of separate app which is not true of other light-bulbs and devices. It is best to stick with a quality Amazon light bulb. Being able to change it to multiple colors and intensities really is very handy. And also very easy. So now my entire apartment light-bulb system is run with these units and things are so much easier, especially at night. I can tell the system to turn on the kitchen light while I am still in bed which makes it much safer for me to walk around. No more looking for light switches in the middle of the night. And this does work with any and all echo dot systems including the echo shows. Like I said, it took me about a week to get used to not using any light switches on the wall. Now I don’t even remember where they are located. I just do everything by voice.

It WORKS!
GREAT little device… just tell your Dot to turn it on, turn it off, dim it to whatever %, even “Alexa, in 15 minutes, turn off Bulb #1”.Use the Alexa app to set it up, and it works beautifully.You can even set up stuff like having it turn on at sunset every day.** AND **I was a wondering what would happen if there was a power outage, or we had to unplug them for some reason… and as it turns out, nothing happens; when it’s plugged back in or power is restored and your Dot takes a few minutes to come back on and reset itself, everything comes back on like before.Great smart bulb, very good price, and it just plain works. Can’t complain.

Works very well
What I like about the bulbs is that they do respond to voice. I wish I would have had this when my father was alive because as people get older and they’re unable to move around as easy if they have this system they can speak to the lamp and have it turn on and off without having to get up and walk to it. I found it to be very useful especially when you’re ready to go to bed at night and you forgot to turn the lamp off it’s nice to not have to get up. Also the color options can really have a nice mood setting for your room from different shades of blue to Pink to Green it really is amazing technology!

I wish I bought these sooner
With Alexa, it literally sets itself up. My ceiling light fixture is a 2-bulb setup, and unfortunately, Alexa sees it as two separate fixtures instead of one fixture with two bulbs. But everything else is amazing. Like I said, once you screw the bulb in, it sets itself up and the bulbs are showing up in the Alexa app as Light #1 and Light #2. Note: you have to give it time to settle in with the Alexa app. Soon in a matter of 5 minutes, you can vary the intensity and the the temperature from very warm to “alien examination room white.” I chose the natural daylight white and intensity on both bulbs to 95%. According to the manual, the bulb draws 7.5 watts at 100% intensity, which is equivalent to a 60 watt incandescent bulb. Amazing. Wish I bought these smartbulbs sooner.

Impressed with this bulb.
I was impressed by this bulb compared with the previous one I had by a different manufacturer. The previous one I had, I had to fight to connect it with my WiFi and then to stay connected to Alexa. This one I just removed it from the package, screwed it into my lamp and viola! It automatically connected with my Alexa and my WiFi and was ready to use at my command. I asked Alexa to change it’s color and it did it. I keep it on a warm white color but sometimes, depending on my mood, I change it to a soft purple or a soft orange. It works every time! (Alexa, turn on my lamp! Change my lamp’s color to ….. (“Ok”, says Alexa)) 😄

Something to know when using with Routines
These are working well now, but initially I had a problem and had to work out what was happening. I had a pair of lamps in the foyer that I wanted turned on at sunset, but only at a low level for ‘mood’ lighting.I found that using a Routine to turn these lights may not work if you immediately start in a low dimmed state. At 35% these lights would simply not turn on at all, but at 40% they worked normally.

UPDATE: Seems like there was a problem between the app and me switching the light on and off manually. I turned off and then on in the app, and now the brightness is normal. I changed my rating to a 4. I am planning on getting the Alexa device with clock to work with the light. Using the app on my phone is a minor inconvenience and a bit annoying.At it’s highest brightness, it’s painfully dim; feels like it’s set at 50% brightness. I’ll use it for a desk lamp instead. I changed the setting in the app to different colors and brightness, but nothing worked.

First Venture into making my house “smart”
We own 4 Alexa devices, but have not utilized any of the other “smart” technology until now. I thought we would start out simple and simple this was! This light bulb replaced a bulb in my family room lamp. Set up was breeze, the color temp is perfect, and I was able to set up a routine on our Alexa device so that the lamp comes on each evening at sunset. Works perfectly!

Have used for years.
They are a little expensive but I’ve found they are worth it. Very easy to install ( just like any regular lightbulb). Once in a while Alexa won’t recognize them but that’s an echo thing not a bulbs. We’ve been fairly happy with the reliability and compatibility of these with our Alexa devices.

Great. bulb, Alexa Only
I missed the part where it said “Alexa Only” in the description, and I run Google assistant, so I used this bulb with the Alexa app for a night and ordered Google compatible bulbs the next day. These bulbs are great if you use Alexa. There are plenty of preset colors to choose from. I like using some of my smart bulbs as night lights in the hallway and bathroom, and these bulbs seem to dim down way further than other bulbs I’ve used while also being very bright when at 100%. Set Up was very easy once I downloaded the Alexa app. Id say for the price, these bulbs are perfect. Kind of bummed I couldn’t make much use of it.

Nice bulbs! Work great with Alexa
If you ignore the set up part asking to scan the barcode thing you will have a much easier time setting these up. Open the Alexa app and it will recognize the bulb, there is no need for “pairing.” Bulbs are bright and consistent without flicker, also dimmable. Nice soft white color that is not too yellow (2700K bulbs). Great solution for my lamps that are on switched outlets, where smart dimmers on those switches are strongly discouraged.

The are OK Pro’s & Con’s
Pro’s. Easy to set up, each light can be turned on & off by a certain device. Other smart bulbs you had to have Keys words for each bulb. You can set timers for the lights to come on & go off. Also you can have them come on when a certain Ring device is activated & go off when there No activation. You don’t have to use a TP link or download another App. Works right off the Alexa app.Con’s. Wish the light would go brighter. The colors are alright. Not as good as another brand I had. The other brand didn’t have all the Pro’s just better colors.Would be nice if they come out with an updated model & fix the brightness & colors…

Handy! I like these more than I thought I would
I bought a pair of these for the bedroom table lamps, mostly so I could turn off my wife’s light without getting out of bed and waking her up, but these things are actually fun! Easy to control the color and brightness on a whim using your voice with Alexa or the app. Different colors for different reasons. For instance “salmon” is a nice warm white that’s dimmer than most of the other colors. “Alexa set table lamps to 50 percent and change color to cyan”Alexa: “ok, ok”Also when you turn them on or off they automatically do it gradually. Setting up and connecting them to your network was painless with the QR code and simple instructions.The next time these go on sale I’ll find a reason to buy several more. They are a bit pricy if you don’t really “need” them.Also I do wish they got a little dimmer. The brightness doesn’t seem to change much as you go lower than 20% brightness.

got the color changing one pack varient. i normally have this bulb on my front porch, it is shielded and also i have a roof over the light so it doesnt get any contact with harsh weather conditions. i link it with the alexa app and it works really well for my type of usage which is pretty light. colors are bright enough and stands out of the crowd. only thing i do not like is the low selection of colors for this bulb. i still give this a good rating because of the price, but for those who are looking for a wide range of colors, this is not the one, otherwise, i would recommend for anyone who wants a great value smart bulb with a fair amount of colors. 5/5

Poor WiFi/Alexa Connectivity
This is the 3rd set of smart bulbs I have gone through. Previously used GE and Sylvannia. I installed these in the same day according to the instructions in the box. I must say, they are way easier to hook up than using 3rd party bulbs were with the Alexa App. My biggest complaint is that they do not stay connected to the WiFi/Alexa.These are currently installed in a cluster of 3 in a ceiling fan and whether it is using an Alexa programmed routine or voice control through Alexa I get only one or two bulbs turning on/off. Then I repeatedly try to manually turn the light on/off in the Alexa app and it has taken up to 10 mins for the bulb to reconnect.Color temperatures and total brightness are lacking in comparison to the third party smart bulbs I have used.

I have about a dozen Amz smart plugs and was counting on this to be as easy to set up as the plugs, not requiring a separate app (I hate that). It did not disappoint. I put the bulb in a lamp, it blinked twice and turned on. I got my phone, made sure location and bluetooth were turned on, started Alexa app. I don’t recall if I had to hit the plus sign to add a device or if it automatically displayed a message saying it had found “First Light”, but in either case I did not have to scan the barcode, contrary to what the instructions said.I played around with it for a while changing brightness and color using the app and by voice. It is not super bright but it is only claiming to be comparable to a 60W bulb and it is. Of course this varies by color. IIRC Soft White was the brightest by far. The colors are very nice and I was pleased that I could change colors by voice. A mode that cycles though all the RGB values would be nice but hey, they named it “Basics”.Finally I renamed it and moved it to an overhead light socket that is on a wall switch. It did not lose its settings during that move or when I turned the switch off for a while. I plan to leave the switch on most of the time but I am sure it will get turned off by habit so we will see how it goes. So far, so good.It’s not very far from my wifi router, probably 15 feet straight line through one wall and one floor. My other Amz smart plugs and Echo Dots G3 have proven very resilient at recovering their connections after interruptions. Only a handful of time I have had to dig behind furniture to get one back online.I wish they had a 100W equivalent version. I’m dinging it one star unfairly on Brightness just to encourage them to make a 100W version.

Colored My World, Lit Up My Life
Used these in my bedroom… They work great and were super easy to integrate with Alexa on a Pop.I have all the basics for the lamps on the nightstands on each side of the bed. I have different cute phrases to cue certain color themes.I wish they could go brighter, but that’s on me. I could have gone with a brighter LED bulb, but figured I would start with these and go from there.Funny story… My teenage son snuck into my room and stole one of these bulbs when the bulb he had in his bedroom went out. So when I caught it one night when I went up to bed to wind down, he was in his room gaming or doing homework with the light on… So I messed with him. I manually pulsed the light, I made it change colors repeatedly, it was funny. He came out and looked across the hall at me with this weird WTF look… I said, “Hey, I’m missing a bulb from one the lamps here in my room, would you happen to know where it went?”Of course, I got the typical teenager shrug and “Nope.”I said, “Really?” and pulled out my phone and turned the light in his room pure red. “The lie detector bulb in your room says otherwise…”Made him put it back… Then handed him a non-smart LED bulb that I had replaced, which he is still using.

Highly recommend; Awesome possibilities
Adding these to our Alexa architecture has opened up a whole new sea of possibilities.If the bulb-life is reasonable, the price/convenience ROI is off the charts.

Work well for most fixtures
I’d give it 4 stars because set up was easy and the bulbs work well. How we, I have one lamp in which the bulbs won’t work. They at the right size for the lamp and the lamp works with regular light bulbs, but bit with two different alexa bulbs. It won’t even turn on with the switch. Idk if that’s a know problem or not, but it’s bizarre to me that only one lamp can’t use these bulbs.

gets the job done
Bought these to replace another brand’s bulbs that I had to give away (for non product reasons). The bulb has a lot of color options. Connecting it was super easy. Only reason I lowered the stars was because I wish it would go warmer on its warm light setting and because the saturation on the colored settings is a little weak. I’d also add that the app for it is quite cluttered and could benefit from some streamlining. But if you don’t have super specific needs and for its price point, I’d recommend it.

You have to get one!
By far the coolest gadget I have purchased in a long time! Set up was amazingly easy, the price was inexpensive, I’m now able to turn on a hard to reach lamp with ease and the color tone changes to suit the mood plus it is now a dimmer switch as well. This light bulb is a must have!!

Amazon Smart Bulb
This light bulb works great, once you’re able to set it up. It was initially hard to set up, the Alexa app couldn’t find the light bulb at first. After several more attempts it finally found the light. Worked great and responsive voice control. I had to reset the light to change networks. After trying to switch the light fast on and off 5 times to no avail. I tried turning off the light switch slowly on and off 5 times and the bulb reset and I successfully added the bulb to my network.

Great color options
I bought this for fun. I like that it was pretty easy to set up and responds well with Alexa or remotely on my device. So many color options to play with. You can Change your mood or space instantly. I only wish that the fun colors were brighter: (give off more light), They are kinda dim even at the brightest setting.Over all, it’s beautiful and I love it.

I got my bulb on 09/30/23. So far, it’s been great! When I came home from work this evening, I asked Alexa to let there be light, and the bulb is randomly flickering. I’m slightly disappointed. I’m hoping that I can get it replaced.

Easy to set up, strange colors
This was very simple to connect to Alexa. It does have multiple colors, but I don’t find any of them appealing. They are quite dark.

SO IN LOVE
I’ve resisted implementing “smart home” things for years now, but the absolute convenience can’t be denied. Long story short: I work nights and having this as my front porch light is so nice. Everything can be controlled from the app and it’s no big deal if I forget to turn it off. Won’t be getting all the smart home stuff, but a few lightbulbs to make my life easier can’t hurt in my opinion. And the best part is being able to turn it on and off even if I’m not at home. Just get it. Setup is SO EASY and took me longer to screw in the lightbulb than it did for my Alexa app to recognize that there was a new device lol

Pairs easily to Alexa, no other app needed. I replaced Sengled.
I bought one of these and a ge cync bulb to replace two unreliable Sengled bulbs. Your need to pair the ge bulb with the cync app then link the app to Alexa, but it was easy. This bulb paired directly with Alexa.We’ll see how reliable the pairing is. It can’t be worse than Sengled.
