    Worthless

    I thought since this was made by Microsoft it would work with the Surface Pro 5 that does not come with an Ethernet Adapter. It does but with speeds less than wireless. I can barely get 100 Mbps with this adapter and with wireless, I get over 400 Mbps. I have Gigabit Internet speeds and I bought this because my desktop died and I wanted to use my Surface Pro in its place and hook it up to Ethernet. It was a waste of money and I will be asking for a refund.

    The best laptop just got faster

    Fits and works perfect for my Microsoft surface laptop. The internet is fast and theres no installation of programs involved on my part! The cost was the same as the Microsoft store and saved me a trip and gas money!

    Does what you would expect

    Handy to keep with my Surface accessories in case there is no WiFi and/or preference to use a hard line in a hotel if available. Much easier to carry than the Surface docking Station “box”.

    Bought it for my Surface Pro 2 and it works perfectly. I’ve experienced no performance issues and installation was Plug-and-Play. This this is really a no frills type of product, so no need to say much more about it. Simply put, this is a solid, good looking USB-Ethernet adapter that works perfectly as expected.

    Not fully satisfied from this purchase

    If you’re planning on buying the adapter and have the USB C port, use that adapter, the USB A to RJ45 has not been working as flawlessly as the USB-C to RJ45 adapter. The one with A port will not provide you with the top Gigabit speeds like the one with C port.

    Perfect Adapter.

    Works great with the Surface Book. I like the little activity light on it too, which helps to know if there’s an active link. The cord is a little longer than I would like, but not a big deal.

    Plug and play! Works on any laptop, not just Microsoft Surface!

    I purchased this to use my laptop on ethernet connections when available for faster internet speeds. Even thought this is a Microsoft Surface adapter, I’ve tried it on an Dell XPS 15, XPS 13, Razer Stealth, etc and it all functions without a flaw. There’s no drivers that need to be installed, just plug and play! This is a small slim, and well built adapter that can fit in a travel bag. Great!

    Impacts my Logitech wireless Keyboard & Mouse

    Interferes with wireless keyboard and mouse. Purchased for use with Surface Pro. Works great for high speed LAN connectivity and makes a better experience with Teams meetings. However, whenever it is plugged in and in use, the Logitech keyboard and mouse combo become erratic in movement or typing now. These use a small USB transceiver, in the port right next to the ethernet adapter. It makes the mouse and keyboard unusable, glitchy, and super slow. I dont have another USB port on the opposite side of the surface to test out, but I’m inclined to suspect there is an EMI issue impacting the transceiver for the Logitech gear, being that close to the ethernet adapter. Plan accordingly.

    Works great! That’s all I really wanted.

    Gigabit Ethernet over USB c. This is a very simple device and it works. That’s all I wanted. It doesn’t have braided cable, but I don’t see it breaking anytime soon. Good value for the money and does the job well, every single time, instantaneously, without fail. Love it!

    Adequate and beautiful.

    I wish that I didn’t need to buy this product. However, it works as advertised and is beautiful as one could expect from an RJ45 USB adapter. While doing some vulnerability scans, the Surface Book’s network systems became overwhelmed. I’m not sure if that’s a function of the adapter, Windows 10, or the Surface Book. However, for most Gigabit networking functions, it’s certainly adequate.

    Lifesaving from wireless

    This product really impressed me from the beginning. No drivers were needed. Just plug it in. Unfortunately, there’s only one USB port on the SurfacePro 3 and therefore it takes said slot (which is why I purchased a Bluetooth-enabled mouse instead of a wireless one). at the point where the wire connects into the large network portion there is a flashing light that lets you see the connectivity status to your network.I’m very pleased with this. My speedtest indicated a ten times increase in speed.
