    Super cool

    I literally have no idea what I’ll use this for but it was easy to set up and it is really cool. Hopefully I’ll find a practical use for it other than just changing the color of my office lamp while I’m bored on an online meeting and seeing if anyone notices.

    THe most stupid light bulb

    It forgets it’s color state everyday. I bought more than 10 different brands and even cheaper than 10$ chinese bulbs work stable.

    You must create an account with Phillips

    I got this product to use with Alexa, what a mess. I didn’t know that to use it, I would have to go through so much account creation. It’s awful. I couldn’t get it to work with Alexa.

    Super Impressed

    I expected a simple RGB lightbulb, however, this HUE bulb is so much more. The colors and color transitions are perfect. My other RGB bulbs are harsh and dim. I really like the light programs that I can run. Hong Kong is very pretty. Highly recommended.

    Needs Hub for Actual Use

    “Hub Optional” means unless you only turn these on manually, the Hub is a must, which makes these very expensive. The color reproduction is pretty good but for the price I find these overkill and prefer Philips’ simpler Wiz bulbs. That being said, there are plenty of people that find these completely worth it, it all comes down to personal preference and how much customization you want. For me, I just need a bulb that does good colors with simple scheduling, which the more affordable Wiz bulbs do just fine for me

    Not bad.

    Came already set up with my alexa because I purchased together. But I have to keep reconnecting them to each other to be able to control it with alexa. It’s really frustrating. I would have returned it because I feel it was overpriced but I waited too long. But other than that it’s a decent light and has lots of cool options.

    Occasional issues but like the idea of smart bulbs.

    Occasionally we lose power and when it’s restored all the bulbs come on and stay on. This is a drag when we are away from the home for several days at a time or when it happens in the middle of the night and we are awaken to bright lights. We have to wait for the Echo’s to power back on and then connect to the wifi before we can turn off the lights with a voice command or get up out of bed and turn off all the lights manually. We do love the idea of being able to turn the lights on and off with voice commands along with the dimming of the bulbs. There has been a few times that I needed to delete the bulbs from the Echo’s and reinstall them because they became unresponsive with Alexa.

    RUN AWAY – DO NOT WALK

    This is my second attempt to review this product, the first review was so bad that Amazon actually censored it. Let’s see if this one manages to reach the public.Do not purchase this product. PERIOD. You will be upset.Imagine a world where you purchase a light bulb capable of producing 16 million different color variations, is Alexa-enabled, and you can control it with ease. Then you spend $50 on a single light bulb and throw any of your expectations away.To use this bulb’s features, you will need to download an app that is so hobbled with ads that you cannot even navigate it. I am not kidding. Open the app and before you can control anything it will LITERALLY force you to watch a ton of ads before you can even control the light you just paid $50+ for. I took screenshots from my phone’s app of all the ads I had to close before I could even turn the bulb on or off – uploaded them to my original review, but Amazon refuses to publish that review, probably because they have a partnership with Philips and bundle these with their Echo devices.Bottom line? The bulb itself is awesome, looks to be built pretty well, but I cannot use it until they fix their stupid app and remove the ads.DO NOT BUY

    Holy cow, I’m so disappointed in Phillips

    So, I bought a lamp a while back with a Smart LED bulb, doesn’t matter the brand, it’s from China, but had issues with it as far as using it through the app. It worked great for a while, but then would no longer be connected, would disappear from the app and would have to set it up again, etc… Got a new bulb from the manufacturer and it was the same story. So I decided to splurge and buy a Phillips bulb after reading reviews that said it was the best Smart LED bulb out there and for the price I thought that it would be… Wow, was I wrong! I mean, the set-up was easy, I initially thought the app was good, but now I am encountering the same type of issues as I did with the cheap made-in-China bulbs. Sometimes it doesn’t connect to the app, I have set up routines for the bulb to turn on and off, those don’t always work right- either the routines are not turned on or they’re on but the bulb doesn’t turn on or off like it’s supposed to. So far, it has not disappeared entirely from being connected to the app like the other bulbs, but I’m waiting for that to happen. And then, after paying what one pays for a Phillips Smart LED, you can’t even control it remotely while away from home!! I mean, you could even do that with the cheaper bulbs, but with the Phillips, I have to spend another $37 after spending over $50 on the bulb to buy a Phillips Hue Bridge?!! I mean, c’mon…. That’s ridiculous!!

    Kind of pricey but as advertised

    The best part is that they dont lose calibration if you accidentally turn the light switch off. Very easy to install and setup. Kind of expensive but the ones that stay calibrated are.

    Reliable

    I have a small room with no ceiling light. I tried and tried different lights/lamps etc… I didn’t want to spend a ton of money but I found this on sale! It works amazing, it’s nice because I can turn it off with my Alexa instead of having to unplug it and it’s nice to wake up to a relaxing light without feeling overwhelmed.

    The Hue line is Great!

    My only complaint is that Phillips Hue lights top out at a 100 watt equivalent. If you want a brighter LED bulb, you have to be satisfied with a Phillips (or other brand’s) 150 watt equivalent. Since I use the lamp while working from home, I like to have the room a little brighter.Since the 150 equivalent is not “Hue” or capable of linking with your network, you have to be satisfied with buying an Alexa capable plug if you want to be able to control the bulb by voice.Otherwise, you’re stuck with controlling the bulb the old-fashioned way, by hand.Not a deal breaker, but I’m patiently waiting for the day when Phillips rolls out a brighter Hue bulb!

    Great Lamp BUT…

    Phillips has always been a leader in the lighting industry. Unfortunately their product was 3x the price of other Smart Lamps and there software app is nice EXCEPT for one minor item. You have to have a monthly subscription to get the app to opperate without any add/bloat/nag ware. Everyone has played “free” game apps that constantly nag you and force you to watch a mini-commercials…now take that and apply it to turning your lamp on/off or changing its color. It’s multiple clicks and timed wait periods before the app responds. I am sure there are other advantages for the paid subscription services but I didn’t need anything but the basics.It’s a shame as the Phillips app appeared nice but it was too painful to really explore so I don’t really know how well it works.I bought the Phillips along with two other never-heard-of-them brands to see which I liked the best and figured I would keep/use all three long term to see which did best over the long haul.All three lamps were nice and put out quality light levels. All three were easy to setup, though the Phillips was a tad simpler. The other two brands (Treatlife and Btclink SmartLife) used what was basically the same core app that was tweaked for their brand. Both apps recognized and controlled both lamps in an identical fashion though the Smartlife App had a few more features built-in so that is the one I am using for both lamps.Considering the price difference between the three, it doesn’t’ make sense to go with the Phillips unless their paid subscription plans and their hub offers features you need/want. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Phillips lamp would outlast the other products but replacing a wireless devise that sits on your network a little more often is probably not a bad thing and considering one lamp was 9.99, I could get almost four for the price of one Phillips lamp, and I get a fully functioning app.

    Lack of features.

    Wasn’t impressed with features. You cannot set up specific times for the bulb to turn or off. You have to do gradual fade in or out. You also can’t set up a specific color for a specific time as well. You also can’t set up specific days to go with those times. Pretty disappointing for a major brand like Phillips. I’ll stick with Meross.

    I got this light because I am not a morning person haha. I wanted it so that I could have it turn on with a colored light when my alarm goes off for work. Its great for that and I use it all the time anyway – it is nice to not have to get up to switch off the light

    This things is awesome! I received one with my Echo studio as a package deal, otherwise, I would never pay for one. As great as they are, in the end they’re just a party trick that no normal person needs the full ability of, especially at the full price.

    Easy setup and beautiful colors

    Philips hue puts out really great products. Up until this purchase I only bought white from them. This color bulb is even better. You can change the color easily from the app and with a little extra work, through Alexa as well.One thing to note if you have never purchased a Philips Hue bulb is you need a Hue Bridge. I already had one so it was not an issue for me, but figured for first time buyers would be good to know.

    I have been using this bulb for a few months and I really enjoy it. I control it with Alexa and everything works as expected. There are a lot of color choices and it is quick and easy to change the color either with voice command or through the Alexa app on my phone (the app shows and names all the colors so looking at the app helps me learn the voice commands for specific colors).The only thing is, I’m not entirely sure how it is connected to Alexa and the instructions were cryptic, probably in part because it can connect to a variety of different systems and be controlled in different ways, not just Alexa. So I’m not sure if it is just connected via bluetooth or if it is making use of wifi. I set it up with an Echo which has Zigby and that’s supposed to work with this bulb — but I have no idea if it is using Zigby. But my Echo is the only Zigby thing I have and I think I’d need a Zigby network, and other Zigby equipment, but I’m not sure — is the Echo enough?? I also have an Amazon Basics smart bulb and a Kasa smart bulb and I understand how those work and how they are connected, so the ambiguity with Philips was unusual for me. I got the bulb included for free with an Alexa device (I forget which one) so it is probably very common to use with Alexa, so more info on how the setup works would be nice. Partly because I like to understand stuff but also because I wonder if this would work well outdoors (wifi would work better than just bluetooth for that).

    Love the Hue system

    My whole house is on Hue. I love the ability to control the lights both with my phone, and with Alexa. The scenes you can create are beautiful. I’ve been using these colored bulbs to set holiday scenes for the various holidays during the year.

    Love this product

    Love this product so much that I purchased it several times and placed around the house. It is easy to connect to your Echo Dot. One of the fun things my daughter loves about this is being able to change the bulb to whatever color she desires. The lighting is still bright and the set up was easy. I would definitely recommend.

    Hits the ground running

    Right out the box no extra nothing. I screw it into the light fixture and automatically echo recognizes it. A little on the high end but absolutely worth the money. I tired a Chinese brand which I’ll be leaving a review as well and we’ll it doesn’t compare to Phillips

    Ambient bulb

    It’s a bulb that requires a lamp that requires double turns of the switch to enjoy the full spectrum of the bulb. I currently don’t have that type of lamp so I’m not able to enjoy the full spectrum of the light bulb.

    You don’t need the Hue Bridge to have Alexa turn off the lights.

    Great product. Works well with Alex device. You dont need the Hue Bridge to turn off with Alexa. I dont know why Amazon says its required.

    Great bulb

    I got this as part of my echo show package and I love it. I can make it soft, dim, bright and I can make it change colors! Where has this been all my life? Game changer for sure!
